I went down to PML this morning to find out more info of the new M3 rims, Forged, Style 220M:

Front 8.5 x 19 ET29 and Rear 9.5 x 19 ET 23

I think ET 23 is not suitable for E90, whether to take all around with 8.5 x 19 ET29??? How about the tyre's sizes? 235 front and 255 rear?? Bros here any comments? Thanks.

Front is almost perfect.. Rears will be almost 30mm wider than standard 18" OEM rims.. definitely an issue and too close for comfort.

Alternatively, get 2 pairs of front rims + 10mm rear spacers.

Ah, great that u found out the specs for the new M3 rims, I also dunno but then again
as a full set up, not suitable for the new 3-series

The front will flush swee2x, max out ur front -ve camber to factory allowance
Rear will rub like mad

Even for the E92 cars, the +23 will rub UNLESS aggressive fender rolling n -2deg camber at the back is dialled.

For the sake of comfort n zero worry.....
Dont go anything below ET+27 for the 3-er in staggered format 9.5J
After all it is ur street car and Spore roads are at its worst in the last 5yrs...

Thanks for your advice, Jack. I heard even E92 need to roll fender for ET 27. so M3 rims and BBS RS GT (Rear ET 25) are out for E90. Actually I quite like the 193M for its look and comfort (18"). I may have to give up the PSS9 then. Thanks.

The transformation is ,at last, completed. I've finished the installation of the M3 E92 original wheels yesterday. Very difficult installation as many modifications should be done on both wheels and Car in order to fit properly.

It is really beautiful but the money that spent on the mods may not worthwhile, IMO.

Now M3 and BBS RS GT rims are not suitable for E90 due to the offset. I checked with PML about 269 they can't trace it from their computer. Besides Volk ME I almost got no other choice! Best offset for rear still 30 - 32. Any other recommendation?

Best offsets for the 3-er is +35 F +30 R IMO on staggered set up 8.5 / 9.5

U may wish to check Yokohama ADVAN light weight wheels, they are increasing their model ranges for BMWs...My favs are the RS and Connoiseur 151

If the M3 rims can cause rubbing on a E90, it will definitely cause rubbing on the E92 since the E92 is narrower than the E90.

But isn't the price of the M3 rims prohibitive?

Style 220M M3 rims - Forged
Front 8.5 x 19 ET 29 - S$1,382.87 per pce
Rear 9.5 x 19 ET 23 - didn't ask the price as offset is too much.

The OEM BMW forged rims on M3 is typically heavy
same as in the E46....but bloody strong.

The M6 one is much lighter

Yes, it's expensive hence it's never worth it to buy OEM BMW wheels unless u like the design. Just remember, all OEM wheels have extremely super duper mega poor resale value

I sold my 19in OEM E46 ones with SO3 rubber - 50 pct thread left for 2 bloody k
and that is forged rim too.

Sam, E92 is narrower in terms of what? body width or wheel track?

E92 body width is 1782mm.
325 rear wheel track is 1513mm.
335 rear wheel track is 1507mm.

E90 bodywidth is 1817mm.
320-330 rear wheel track is 1513mm.
335 rear wheel track is 1490mm.

I'm sure about the E92 but can someone with the brochure for the E90 come in and check the E90 data? Thanks!

In E90post, they sum up the difference by this sentence, " E92 Coupe is 2 inches longer, 1 inch narrower, 2 inches lower but uses the same wheelbase length as the E90 Saloon."
