New N20 in F10

I heard the N20 engine will be featured in the F10 starting Q3/4 of this year. Its a 4cyl twin scroll turbo that is supposed to perform like a 6 inline.

should i wait for this new engine or is the 6inline better?

The inline NA 2.5L 6cyll will be history soon,,,,,I will either choose the N20 or the 6cyl turbocharged..

It depends on the state of tune and pricing.

If its being marketed as a 528 with 245 HP/350 Nm, with the 523 (with the 2.5l N52) being retained, one has to look at the premium over the 523 to determine whether its value for money. There is currently a big gap between the 523 and 535, which the 528 can slot into.

If it is detuned and replaces the 523 with a slight premium, then it might really be worth waiting for. COE premiums appear to have stabilised (until the next quota revision, that is) and waiting till Q3/Q4 is unlikely to result in the massive jump that occurred when the F10 was first launched.

The current 523 can feel underpowered at times (but having the SAT helps) so the N20 with its superior torque will definitely be an improvement. Don't think that it will be as smooth as the N52 though. In time, perhaps.

Hmmm no wonder PML is offering a pretty good overtrade for ex-stock 523s. But I feel it's worthwhile waiting for the N20.

Yes, it is worth waiting for........2 litres turbo-charged, rev faster than 6cyl and can 'BOOST' to easily 300+hp under $1.5K.

Wait for the N20 if I am you..

I will sell my N54 once N20 is in the next 3er coupe low road tax, low fuel consumption yet POWERFUL

4 pot turbo needs good exhaust to be mascular.

6 pot don't need.

Yup. Makes sense to wait. 528 probably priced similar or slightly higher than 523 with lower overtrade than ex-stock 523. Plus, can be tuned...:woottt:

4 pot turbo needs good exhaust to be mascular.

6 pot don't need.

4 pot turbo more low end torque
more useful for singapore day to day drive
