supposedly someone going to sell off same number... one is old plate ( start with E) another one is new...(SFZ,SGA...etc) ... which one should worth more? im really curious about this.. :uhhh:

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

E series worth more, since they are older. But also consider the last letter (checkdigit), some people don't like 'X' among other letters...

S-series (SB, SC... SW, SY) worth even more, due to rarity.

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

No brainer. Older the plate, harder to find, so more valuable. But the alphabet that comes after the last digit also impt lah.

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

think the ones the starts with a singular " S " is the oldest ....

imagine... " S 3 X "... hahaha

All registration numbers have a check digit (last alphabet). You don't have to display it if the car and original number was registered before the check digit was implemented (sometime in the 70's?) Otherwise a new car with and old number has to display it.

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

if i bid for a new number... how long will the process take? then my old number wil go where?

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

Is it possible to get:

EN 5 Y

So if 5 in Roman is V, it's Envy, cool or what?

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

if i'm not wrong, EV1L does exist. it's on a black previous generation CLK.

also, S3S is on a certain ferrari f50. but since the car isn't road legal here, i'm unsure if it's a real registration number. but the plates are on the car.

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

yap. EV I L is still in singapore. Its on a yellow sports car. I think ferrari or porsche. Saw it park at the vip lot of MArriot Hotel of CK Tang. orchard rd.

Must be some big shot.

I also saw "SBR1D ' is a SUV.

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

wow... wud like to see EV 1 L on the rd one of these days....

n on tt topic....i'm tryin to find 'EM 26'
anyone's got links to this plate??

Re: new number plate vs old number plate

You are wrong. The check alphabet for "EV 1" is "Y", there is only a "EV 1 Y" on the road.
