Tried the BMW Performance Exhaust, and found it a tad too soft for my personal liking.

Pity, the inconel/titanium exotic mix was a nice combination.

Settled for an Akra, which should be mounted on Miranda tomorrow morning!

Nizam, any in-cabin drone?

Only upon start-up, there is a little drone which goes away after I drive off, or after the engine has warmed (and rpm gone down). On the move, there is hardly any drone.

Anyway, the M3 is meant to be driven hard and revved. And the engine really sings with the Akra. Very nice.

Slight OT - comparing the RS4 and the M3, it's interesting how different the engine note is. The RS4 is more guttural (like an American muscle car). The M3 howls at a higher pitch. Both great V8s, but very different.

Love it, bro. Thanks for bringing it in for me.

Noticeably more grunt and the sound (esp at higher rpms) is to die for. So I've been revving up just a little bit more.

The pipes have more presence visually, and the quality of finish is top-rate.

After driving Miranda in a spirited manner for a few days, the ECU seems to have settled in.

The M3 now has the sound to match its performance. Very nice.

I have my M performance exhaust for almost 1 year and had put over 15,000km on it. I had comments that my M Performance exhaust is louder than some others. Does anyone feel that their M Performance exhaust had gotten louder over time/mileage?

I just installed my Perf exhaust last Friday. I head it in person despite all the online video clips courtesy of Jason. I like it because i don't like it too loud. The good thing about this exhaust is that it retains the M3 sound characteristics, but amplify it a couple of notches. You don't hear a lot of it with the windows down due to the tight sound proofing in this generation cars, but it's definitely different. Give it the beans and it sings. Most important when deciding is how loud u want it to be. I was looking at the full Akra Evo but decided that it's too loud for my comfort. It sounds lovely though. If u are the kind that like it dramatic, this exhaust is going to disappoint u.

this is what i want too but you heard mine, it seems louder than yours, right? i wanna check whether anyone has the same feeling/hearing as mine when it is actually louder some time down the road as compared to when one just installed it

Hey Bro, the M Perf Exhaust is a better slip on in terms of gains vs. the Akra, supposed HP gains is +8 HP vs. +3 HP against the Slip on Akra. The only way to get more power is to go full Akra evo system, but then you lose the "Legal" issues.

As for the sound of the M Exhaust, it will get louder over time, takes a while to run in the exhaust, but when it does, it gives it a very very nice purr on the higher revs! will definitely Notice a big difference before and after the exhaust is fully run in.
