yeah the hard top just looks a bit strange...dunno, maybe with kit and big wheels the car will look different.
sometimes i think the whole thing is just a blardy scam..
obviously, BMW designers wouldnt design a car that looks so ugly!?!?! i am sure it will be in photoshop style with large rims, low height and nice bodykit....
they intentionally make the car "uglier" so anyone with some sense of aesthetic would go and "modify it" - and hence spins off in more business for the tuning houses like AC, hamman etc etc...
and of course, I guess they have to cater to the large proportion of people who dont understand car aesthetic but insist of
-small wheels and cheaper tyres
-softest suspension possible (hence higher)
-not too loud body kit cos splitters and spoilers are "beng"
etc etc
so in the end, car enthusiasts like us will spend $$$ to mod and mod and mod....
When E60 was launched with 16" rims without bodykit ==> Damn ugly.
Now E60 with Bodykit, Quad Exhaust, Big Rims, Sport Suspension etc...Damn NICE.
Car enthusiasts will spend $$$ to mod and mod and mod.................:furious:
BMWSILVER - yup yup... and because they know car enthusiast will mod their cars no matter what, if I were the manufacturer, I also dont care.
I make a ugly car - the ah chek and ah uhm wont care less... I sell sell sell
I make a ugly car - but becos it is still a gd car and I purposely tantalise the young ones with sporty photos of modded cars, young enthusiasts will still buy my ugly car and then spend spend spend to mod mod mod.. best thing is, mod already I can void his stoopid warranty... but bottomline is I still sell sell sell..
See?
We have all been taken in by the world's greatest joke!
Interesting thoughts on the conspiracy theory, and lend some credibility to it, given that the mod markets are much larger in U.S. and Europe. Could possibly be the case of catering to the general masses on a plain vanilla model, and let the fanatics search deep into their piggybanks and mod......
Back to the E92. The more I look at the rear, the more I thought of the old Mazda 626/929. The curve at the rear is nothing close to that of the new Audi TT. And the front..... it is simply not aggressive enough. Tame.
tend to agree that it's not nice...maybe like someone said before, it'll take some time before the bimmer looks set in...until then, the initial impressions are only so so...
regressive means what? progressive i know..the govt gives me that yearly. some progressive package thingy. i think the hardtop is the main problem. to me a cabrio from bmw has to b soft top.
