Not into Oz but for the US - Drop the Singlish and make them think you are a Korean gangsta by looking like a bad ass mofo. Does not work in black ghettos or Hispanic controlled territories - they would just pull the trigger on you. Try not to carry a map and don't ask for directions. Don't try your luck by calling an African American ... Bro.

In areas like ocean avenue or salem etc - bring your bible and run on foot before it turns dark......don't any how stay in any hotel least you end up like that that HK woman. Lots of those there.

In Amish parts - ditto on the running part. Learn how to ride a horse before going.

If you plan to drive thru the Mojave .... Respect the desert. Bring water.

Exciting stuff over there compared to boleh land. Especially when kena chased by state troopers for going at 120mph ...... They don't let go there. Taser there quite big size. You could almost hear Hawaii 5-O theme song playing during the chase......

Wahliao... So sexciting! How come Bo jio!? :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Super dangerous to have ur car break down on NSHW...better get your car check before travel...if too old, just sell it get new one! 07 for me is very old car....any car more than 3 years are old and already reach it's life span...

Maybe need to install CarTrack + panic/rescue button too -> CarTrack.com.sg
I wonder whether their tracking and rescue service using Malaysia Police really works....?

Re: North South Highway "Hong Kan!"

I am a malaysian myself and have been driving my s'pore plated RX300/E60 and most recently F10 528i up the NSHW for last 10 plus year, to KL/Genting/Malacca/Muar, etc...

I even drove up to Genting last Thurs after the deadly bus accident.

There is always this anxiety amongst S'pore driver (especially the young one) that your conti car is being eyed by many. But the truth is that there are many many more conti cars in Malaysia and frankly, nobody is going to give a damn to your car so long as you keep a low profile, don't be too arrogant and horn at others for nothing....just do the normal thing, park in proper car park, keep valuable out of sight, lock before u move, be alert, you will be fine.....

And enjoy your ride above 200km/h....else drive something else....no offense

It's true. Most of us Singaporeans don't know just how rich the Malaysians are - because we see the work permit holders, S pass holders etc come over here to work, and we assume all of Malaysia is like that.

Obviously, the rich ones don't need to come to Singapore to work as a clerk or beauty consultant or foot reflexologist, duh!

There's also a new class of up and coming Bumiputras - usually children of Datuks and businessmen - and the Continental cars they drive have emblems representing a stable of Prancing Horses or Raging Bulls, so don't think our over priced BMW and Mercedes Benzes are very atas.

And no one dares to target these guys because a potential carjacker knows that these guys will hunt him down and most likely gun him down, after all, a shooting a day is about par for the course in Malaysia - and if the PM can do it (well, he actually blew the poor bitch up) then, you can bet those from the privileged classes most definitely can and will too.

So, the potential carjacker is left with meager pickings from the stupid/naive/"everything-is-so-cheap"/haolian Singaporean driver showing off in his overpriced, under-specced BMW in Bolehland.

Moral of the story: want to drive into Malaysia, mai scared. If you wanna be 100000% safe, don't drive into Malaysia and take a flight there instead. Reminds me of that famous saying: Ai scared, mai mod, Ai mod, mai scared.

PS. That's what I'm doing, since one by one the family members of our BMW convoy that originally planned to cheong up to Penang in September chickened out, citing the recent gangland-style shootings in Malaysia, KNNCCB. Worse, some of these family members are Malaysians themselves! Sigh.

Re: North South Highway "Hong Kan!"

I concur your point.

Sg F30 starts from 316. MY F30 starts from 320. In Sg, there are more 320 than 328 or 335. In MY, there are more 328 than 320 or 335. Don't say bigger country need bigger CC. In fact, in this country, i need the torque of C63 AMG to overtake all the bloody roadhogger.
