How's the safety now in JB? Always hear from my folks that the safety in JB is horrible and advise me to avoid going there.

Just came back from the favorite JB workshop for the valve cover gasket change. Luckily when he open the cover not much sign of sludge

Hahah! Another satisfied customer, I suppose? =)

Mine was decent too.... not too much signs of sludge. But since there was an intermittent valvetronic fault, and that we've already replaced the valvetronic motor and relay, Francis suggested to clean up the cam shaft.... So I went ahead lor..... So far, so good! =)

Typically, I always subscribe to the axiom - if it ain't broken, don't fix it! Hahah!

Bro IKM, was there any symptoms before the valvetronic motor failure?? Like jerking repeatly@ slow pick up?? hmmmmmmmmm.....

No symptoms for me BEFORE the failure. But when it DOES fail, the car goes into a "limp home mode". This time when it suddenly failed - the engine management light was illuminated, and power was completely lost! As I was doing a right turn at a traffic light, I stepped FULLY on the accelerator already, the car was crawling - barely reaching 20kmh!!

That said, I did sometimes feel some jerks WHILE I was having the valvetronic issue - when the engine management light was illuminated.

Good workshops - knowledgeable mechanic, good working attitude and reasonable prices are getting rarer these days.... Usually only get 2 out of 3 in many cases...

To be honest, I don't wanna be regular but what to do when the car keep needing to see doctor

They are pretty competent and value for money bimmer doctors though,

Car goes into "limp home mode". Complete loss of power - a fully depressed accelerator, and I was travelling at 20kmh...
