Opinions on the 118i

Hello all....newbie to site but been driving 3series for about 5 year now. Looking at getting a 118i as deal is pretty good (and besides...times are bad and downgrading is the 'in' word !) ...anybody have any opinion of this model?

spikey - still negotiating - about $94 thereabout i think..but deal is more on the amount I can get on my used car.

i try both 118 and 130 in my opinion 118 is very basic (in & out) it lacks the power u would expect... 130 FTW

My chao neighbour has one 118i. Wash car everytime splash water onto my car. Can never aim her garden hose properly. NNB.

Ok buy 118i despite all the combrain I had from neighbour. Dun buy 3 series hor.

Boot is small, back seats are a bit tight plus the rear wheel drive transmission tunnel would cause the 3rd back passenger in the middle to straddle it. Interior doesn't come with frills of the 3 series, no electric seats. Acceleration from 0 is a bit slow.

But the drive is nice, it handles well, especially when cornering - the test drive route involved the bendy section of Pasir Panjang behind NUH, very stable. Shape is very distinctive and compact for a bimmer. Enjoyed test driving it!

Nicccccccccce car. Especially the blue one in the showroom. Although spec quite basic, as u say times are bad, it is not a bad idea to get the 118i.

Nice car, was a pleasure to drive, good road handling. Was in fact the first BMW that I've test driven. However (and unfortunately), the space in the passenger side front and rear is too small, I couldn't see myself 'growing' to love this car with a family on the way (I'm not small either at 6'0').

Shame really, good drive and good customer service from BMW salesperson at Alexandra.
