Dear all,

Do you think Mike will have spared bumper to ex-change while he spray your original bumper?

Don't mind having different colour bumper for 1 to 2 days. As long as do not need to leave the car at his workshop to collect dust and paint particles :(

Just curious.

Hi BMWSILVER,

What is your ride. I actually have one set of stock bodykit for E60 with Mike. Changed to M Aero kits about 2 months ago and this set is still with Mike.

Color is titanium Silver.

Anyone interested, please do PM me.

Regards,

Re: paint job required

to tell u the truth, there is really no different where you go and paint your car. There is a bmw color chart the workshop follow when they re-paint your car.

In Singapore, the workshop here have standard, else how can they stay in business.

Just find the 1 with the best value.

Bro, I don't think many will agree with u. Not so simple as colour coding from the paint code. Colour matching is a skill. All too often, we see many new cars with different coloured doors after an accident repair. More skill is required when dealing with old cars where the paintwork on the rest of the car is quite jaded.

Of course, one usually does not juz source for a paintshop for the sake of respraying. Usually, one will need some bodywork repairs if there is an accident and that is where the skill of the panel beater is also extremely impt. There are panel beaters and there are panel beaters. Some are so good that u need a very good set of expert eyes to see that repair has been done.

So to find a shop with both good panel-beating skills and paintwork respray skills is, I shd say, very rare.

T6,

I understand where you are coming from. well in the end its the person choice on what the value in the end.

Re: paint job required

hi coolacid. i think u havent kena the worst. there are indeed some crappy paint shop still around and they are in business.

one of the worst painter is the one that is call CH-PAWAY at paya ubi. this company promise quick on-the-spot patch respray and not the whole area of the damage paint. however, the end result was TERRIBLE, after the new patch of paint settles in 2 day, the entire spot was worst than before. the whole area was practically destroyed by them.

a good word of advise - avoid at all cost.

Re: paint job required

Bros, I recently got my bumper fixed and resprayed for $80. Day job..brought in the car at 9 am and I got it back by 3 p.m. These guys are really good and they are actually affiliated to Section Credit. A second hand car dealership. Workmanship is great and there are times I walk in there and they are fixing up new cars (parallel imports).

I have been using them for many years and so far their color matching skills and patch work are pretty good indeed. Best of all, price is GREAT! The down side is they are kinda out of the way. Their factory is across from the Mercedes Benz workshop at Pandan Road. PM me if you want to get your car fixed. I probably have to bring you there since I can't remember their telephone number.

Re: paint job required

I'll like to give the thumbs up to Yew Lip at Sin Ming. The subject was badly wrecked bumper that everyone including Mike, recommended replacement. In my heart, I agree that it is near impossible to patch with all the broken tabs and badly deformed plastic. Angie at Yew Lip took one look and assured they can patch it up, but at the same time stressing it won't be 'perfect'. Her honesty on top of her young and petite outlook did not give much assurance but I was quoted only $350 for the patch and spray, as compared to the next closest quote of 1500++ for bumper replacement. The examples of her workshop's handiwork looked very well done. What the heck, $350 was worth risking.

When I saw the results, my jaw dropped. I could hardly believe the pristine looking bumper was once badly mangled and broken. Even if I were to scrutinise the area, it was difficult to tell that it was once damaged. Colour matching is good and patched surface cannot be told apart. Total came up to $550 which included the price of a busted parking sensor, a missing bumper strip and resetting the parking system. It is a fair price for the parts and service, no additional $$ according to the estimate from PML. They even washed and polished the car :cloud9: Turnaround time: 4 days

To provide a comparison, the next nearest quote is at $1500+ from Mike (bumper replacement) and PML wanted $4500.
