Parking @ One Shenton

Heyloe All,

In September, my company is moving offices to Asia Square 1 and there is going to be an extreme shortage of parking space.

I am looking to rent one out - and am told that One Shenton is going to be the closest available residential development where I could park. Does someone here foresee having a parking available that they could lease out to me?

Or does anyone else have alternative suggestions? I know tonnes of places where I can park by the hour but either they will charge me an arm and a leg, or it will be far enough from the office making it a pain in the arse to walk in inclement weather.

Any help/suggestions here much appreciated.

Thanks Kenn. Got a lead to Sail already as a friend lives there. Unfortunately I am going to be in Asia Square 1 which is a bit of a walk from Sail. So One Shenton is going to be the best. Or sell the car and cycle there! Someone want to buy a pristine GTR?

From what I am being told by managing agents and developers through my contacts - the lack of parking is not oversight but a masterplan of our garment to reduce congestion in Marina Bay area. How? While I see the point of paying high salaries to civil servants in SG coz they do a good job and it weeds out corruption, I sometimes think it adds blinkers and reduces the ability to think out of the box.

Why not just let someone build a massive multi-storey car park, charge people $600 a month to park. Introduce an entrance to Marina Link mall which undoubtedly connects to stuff underground. Walk yes, but eases life.

I dont think I will face an issue in the morning, but the afternoon is going to be a nightmare without the car. It already is at Suntec though the population here is fairly sparse compared to the concentration in MBFC. God help me. I know some colleagues who are planing to increase working from home!

My company apparently has been allocated 56 lots in all the floors we have taken up. I was told by the bloke handling the lease etc. that they would be allocated via a lottery. Yeah right! A lottery with senior management's names... Duh!

I think even owners, they have to ballot for a lot due to shortages, right?
I have an expat colleague who is a tenant there and does on drive. Can he sublet if he is not the owner? Let me check with him.

Walao that was a joke la. It's the carpark of a construction site... they haven't launched the showflats so visitors won't be welcome.

What MW has done before is drive his car up a kerb and throw some dry leaves over it. Then it looks like broken down/abandoned and won't get fined or wheel-clamped.

P.S. this will not work if your car is freshly groomed.
