Just bought an E 36.

The test drive...............did not like it.

But these things grows on you :sickinbe:.......... n... I am loving it! :woottt:

Now back into childhood, I wanna put rims.

Got this lobang for BBS 18x8 (18" rims). :shakehea:

BBS website says only 18x8.5.

Forum says, 17" is best...

Me feel like sotong n ...........Belgian beer :chinese:

:helpp!:

What does the crew say? ......:topicsuc:

Re: passion for rims E36

Seriously, I am afraid of the 3 point u turn to become wayyyyy too long and the back tyre to scrub the back ............:errr:

:helpp!:

Is 17 inch the only way for the E36?

What is the experience of the crew? :helpp!:

Re: passion for rims E36

there are quite a number of E36s running 18s.
which BBS are those?

Re: passion for rims E36

Agree, hence my doubt. the seller said that the tyre would scrub the body of the car in extreme situation.

They are a the BBS RZ 372.

I could not find any web info on it .

The offset is 40mm.

I am just afraid to buy and later have to tahan some restriction in use, as above.:oooops:

If you go to the BBS website they'll suggest only the 18X8.5 for the E36.

BBS heaven

Would the the fact that they are 18X8 and not 18X8.5 make a huge or damaging difference? :fineprin:

Re: passion for rims E36

My front i 225/40/18 18x8
my rear is 255/35/18 18x9.

Anything is possibe. Just need to play with other settings.

Re: passion for rims E36

im using 18x8.5 BBS RC with 225/40 R18 tires. no rubbing issues in the front. just had to fold the rear fender.

Re: passion for rims E36

If they're originals - fantastic buy. Don't even think twice. Don't like the look just buy to sell.
If they're replicas - still a good buy, I think.

A lot of us E36ers on 18" ... heck I'm considering 19".

Re: passion for rims E36

again, like i said... if they are originals, u dun buy, i will buy (but to keep, not to sell)
tyre-wise, the Goodyear F1 Assy' seems to be pretty good buy now. that's what i'll be changing to when i get new tyres

Re: passion for rims E36

Yes they are originals BBS in a well established shop.

No doubt about it.

I am pretty keen and I think I am gonna get them cos I like the look of it. Very BM to me.

Thank you for your feed back. The thing is if I have to fold the rear fender.

I am not too sure what that means. Do I have to do a major transformation of body work?

Where do I have to do that?

Will I still be able to take speed bumps?

Thks for your feedback!

Re: passion for rims E36

nah, not major work, just rolling the inner well of the fenders, most bodyshops can do it. and yes u can take speed humps. 18" is not very huge

Re: passion for rims E36

Any place to have this done?

After a little photoshop, they look nice but damn huge !

Re: passion for rims E36

He thks!

But I gave up the idea of putting 18" wheels. It is according to me, too big.

I will either put 16 or 17 to the max.

I have been to propel. We tried a 17 rim with 225/45/17. If I remember well. The guys were very nice and patient. But it was rubbing on the inner wall at the front.

I guess max would be a 215/40 or 45 /17.

They were a lot of very nice rims at propel. I will go back to get this solved once I found the right tires to put on. Hope the guy there, is not fed up with seeing my face. Maybe next time, I bring along a chio bu to entertain them while i check the rims. :chinese:

I will concentrate also on my comfort. I find the seat of my e36 very uncomfortable. I struggle to find a good position to drive.

I will work on that. I am planning to have it redone in full leather. Hmmmmmm

Janice and Annie at 8 cushion here I come.
