Performance Motors launches the new Z4

Performance Motors has officially launched the new Z4 last night (15th May, Friday) at their spanking new showroom. Amidst all the wining and dining, the new Z4 was unveiled just before 8pm and i was lucky enough to be there(Big thanks to the folks at PML for that). Taking centrestage was the S-Drive35i, a beautiful low slung roadster with a twin turbo heart under the semi-clam shell bonnet and a DCT transmission shuffle about.

they fired up the twin turbo z later in the night. stunk up the hall, but sound was great.

Test drove it today.... I am in luuuurrrrve.....

DCT is addictive - 'PARP PARP' with every change. Like most reviews have indicated, it's more refined and not as raw as the outgoing one. Very comfy compared to the old one in fact.

Note - only that blue press car has iDrive - what PML will sell you DOES NOT have iDrive.

For those interested in the sDrive35i, price is 245k, OMV approx 67k

Compares to 248K, OMV 71K for the 335i Coupe? Higher margin, but selling price is cheaper than I thought. I was expecting them to price it between the coupe and the cabrio for the same engine.

Yeah, cheaper than I expected from PML, but still almost 40Gs more than the PIs...

Think the 335 coupe px is much softer now. i'd expect the Z4 has v little room to negotiate (for now) since its a new model.

but agreed w you, cheaper than expected. I expected it to be close but upside of the 335 coupe list px. but the Z does exclude idrive...

Went to see also. Frankly at almost same price as 335 Coupe, I wouldnt buy man. Leg room is good surprisingly. I dont like the radio antenna.

This is ridiculous, the 335i price is about the same! =/ sigh, the Z4 is really overpriced imo!

Although I have to say, it is stunning!

did you notice they removed all the antennae for the event? I was wondering eh... stubbies come as standard? Now we know, even PML knows how ugly it is.

anybody wants to buy a spare Z4 stubby antenna off me? :chinese:

Hi,

Usually just arrived on our shore the $ sure sky high so wait a while and see how......(price sure drop)

And as compared to the Bosxter...this Z4 is much more powerful, the only concern is the insurance for Boxster sure to be higher than Z4.......(i think so)

did you notice they removed all the antennae for the event? .

They had to remove it for the sake of the drape that was covering the car..... would be quite difficult to cover and even more difficult to slide the drape off.....

v good point, i totally forgot about the drapes. i wasn't paying attn till the car was unveiled!! the introduction was kinda to me...
