PI 3series convertibles vs PML

Recently I have been seeing more PIs advertising 323, 325 and 335 convertibles. The prices could vary alot between PIs and on further checks, some were from Japan and some from Germany, etc and each claiming the other were lower specs thats why they were cheaper.
Also there are many articles in the newspaper on PIs under-declaring OMV, etc to bring the price down ,etc.
I am contemplating on a 323 convertible from PI or shud I go for a 325 convertible from PML. What things shud i ask or look out for?
In a loss and hoping Bros out there who has bought from PIs or with good knowledge can help. And any reputable PIs to recommend?
Thanks.

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

Be careful, some of them are 2nd hand cars that dodgy dealers will pass off as new. Might just be your luck.

We all know that as agents, PML will charge a premium but whether it is worth it, is up to you. If you going the PI route, maybe check out the more reputable dealers.....

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

basically i paid abt 176k , omv i not so sure think is ard 50k plus?? full option except the i-drive, as told by my SE

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

Bro, this is a gud price. Pls PM me the company and the person to contact. Looks like yours in non Hi-Line and also its quite confusing among the PIs as each offer different Hi-Line specs.
Thanks

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

Roger40,
I checked out many PIs before buying my car (used PML car)... found Vincar and Lay motor pretty decent (don't quote me though).

Specs can vary dramatically... forget about Hi-line or non-Hi-line... all bull$@#% 'cos everyone will say theirs is "highline"...
Just download the brochure from the BMW international website, go to PML and get their complete specs and compare one for one.
Look for major items like i-drive (I believe no PI car has this), sports seats, logic 7 sound system.

OMV less relevant to you as long as you calculate the total depreciation... what the PI does for the OMV is not your direct problem. If the OMV low, ask for lower price and vice versa.

IMHO, try to get a PI car that is already in the showroom, unless you trust the PI 100%. The specs you order can (and have been known to) vary from what you order. Also, if there is any problem with declaration of OMV etc and the car is stuck at the port, then you're in trouble. If car already in showroom, then you can drive it off "immediately".

Why not consider 325ci from PI if you want to consider the PI route? 323 and 325 are very different on the sedan and although I haven't tried the 323ci, the 325ci is quite underpowered due to the weight (almost 1700kg, almost like 7 series). Can't imagine a 323ci, but if you're just cruising it's ok.

In the end got PML car (although used) cos of following reasons
1) Warranty... the convertible will give problems with roof etc, esp. creaking (inherent issue worldwide). If you can live with that and others, that's fine...
2) Resale value. If you keep car for long, PI no problem. If sell within 1-2 years, hmmm... not sure, esp. if it's an uncommon car like 323ci.

My advice, go test drive the 325 and maybe 335 (hee hee) and see the corruption of power!!! HAHAHA

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

try cyber car (dun quote me).. trustworthy and usually hv ready stock..i almost bought a 335i from them till i hv to part with that idea and buy a 523lci (pml). Look for sean or the boss. v friendly. their cars i notice got idrive..

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

No offence but their cars seems relatively expensive vs other PIs.

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

Hi i also just ordered a new coupe from PI. Can anyone tell me if its usual for PI to require balance payment of sale price BEFORE registration and final delivery of vehicle?

What happens if i make payment and they dont deliver the car at all? I already paid the deposit so why cant i pay the balance on delivery? Thanks

u paying in full?

deposit shld sufice. i would advise u to ask them sign a document draftd by u. but if they really went belly up, nothing much u can do. enqire more as to why they wan full payment.

Re: PI 3series convertibles vs PML

I think it should be the same as normal...Settle the loan and balance payment ONE week before registration and delivery. As I took loan for my PI car, I sign the bank loan and outstanding balance about one week before delivery.

Maybe you are paying full cash, that is why they prefer you to settle the balance payment before they register the car in you name.
You can coordinate with them on the same day to pay the full cash(cashier order?) and they register the car on the same day. Win-Win for both party.
