Piano restoration

Any recommendations for a reputable piano restorer in Singapore?

Looking for not only a tune-up but also to restore the interior and exterior... sentimental value la, don't ask me to junk it!

Re: Piano restoration

You can check out Robert Piano at Millenia. Talk to Robert himself. They have an in house restorer who is good, and I have played their restored Steinways which are decent.

Restoration is expensive and usually done for premium grand pianos only. Of course if it has great sentimental value then it's worth a go. Good luck.

Re: Piano restoration

apart from restoring the paint finishings and cleaning-up, is there any hope of curing the sticky keys problem? I have a piano that is about as old as I am which I want to keep, but its heater hasnt been plugged in for decades, and in our weather the keys got sticky, press already will not pop back up. I'm thinking of restoring it too, so that it can be playable again. Anyone else got the same problem?

Re: Piano restoration

Yes. Changing the pins can rectify sticky keys - got quoted $600 on the phone by one shop.

Re: Piano restoration

Thanks!! that doesnt sound like a horribly expensive solution. I was expecting worse. Will give some piano companies a call then... me suaku
