I think for your car, the best tires are....................

Re: pls recommend me a tire

Go for latest Michelin Pilot SuperSports. Best reviews.

Am changing my rear tires shortly & going for these. Pity they were not launched last year when I replaced my fronts. Had to settle for Michelin PS2s.

Re: pls recommend me a tire

Potenza S001

Re: pls recommend me a tire

RE11 instantly knocked 1.5+ sec off stock Michelins.

Same track, dry, but RE11 ran at least 15 deg colder ambient temp.

RE11 is better over stock Michelin on track becuase RE11 use for both road and track use
so for those who want to have tyre for both application RE11 is a beter choice

What about Michelin Pilot Super Sports? Good online reviews for superb sticky grip on both dry & wet tarmac. Am considering ordering these from Tire Rack USA as they are still much cheaper after freight & tax costs than getting them locally.

Pss is better than ps3 in michelin product chart .
i doubt those are the same tyre from our local distributor.
my understanding local authorised Distributor can only buy factory endosed product ranges

PSS wasn't available at the time. When my stock michelins were bald from hooning, I was quoted $4000aud for a set.

RE11 works out cheaper for me from tirerack at about $1700aud landed.

I'd say give the PSS a try and let us know. The interesting thing was on stock michelins, treadwear was about 220. The RE11's treadwear was 180. However the Michelins looked really tired after a Skidpan Session while the RE11s were still going strong. This is through visual inspection. No measuring of any kind.

Its interesting that Michelin gave the PSS a 300 rating but yet has a higher grip and last longer than the PS2.

Traditionally, treadwear and grip don't hold hands.

Ya magic compound
Hence the most expensive tire in the world right now

Yah but they are actually tied very loosely or not at all.. just a very rough indication and not always right..surfaces also cause difference in ways different tires generate grip and their wear rate..so as with everything else, have to test
