Anyone tried Castrol 5w40 on 520 n20? Ok to use 5w40 for 30k km servicing? I was on mobil 0w40 previously.

i tried Q8 5w-40 before on my (X1 20i) N20. no problem. quite smooth.

500ml more than the NA 2.0L engine

Actually to be exact it's 0.75l more than the N46. N46 uses 4.25l, whereas the N20 is a 5l

Yup.. Have u tried 4.5L? The oil measuring probe would likely to tell u max level.

How much is the engine oil volume needed?

Yup by right 4.5l should tell you 'max' to.. But technically if u were to have additional 250ml of oil in your engine, the engine wouldn't be as responsive due to having to overcome the additional volume in the sump. That's what i think though. So since it's 4.25l, why add in additional 250ml unless you are having oil leaks? HAHA
