PML's promo

Just wondering whats the recent promo about on PML's website?

$555 for 12months for 520i and $333 for 12months for 320i.
Is it a very long loan period? Are they clearing ex-stock or something?

Re: PML's promo

Hi, I just called up PML this week regarding the deal.

I guess the $555 and $333 involves the undertaking of a huge loan over a long period- hardly desirable given that many people may decide not to keep their cars for over ~7 years. You'll also be paying more interest and its better to get an upright discount instead.

I don't think they are clearing ex-stock cos some of the SEs say that cars bought in June period usually have a same manufacturing year. I.e. if you buy now, u will get MY 08.

Cheers

hi i just booked 1 320i last week. have a overtrade value of 16.8k. clear stock they says..

Re: PML's promo

Yes, it is a 10 year loan, 90% of the car price, and 2.38% (not a higher interest).

Any SE can give you a better package.

Re: PML's promo

Sounds like the Balloon financing they had for the E36 a few years back. Im guessing 555 for first year, subsequent years the instalment gets higher and higher by a certain percentage. Like that where got worth it man. :screwedu:

Even if it's 10 year loan, assuming the cost of the car is $130,000, the monthly repayment is $1,200+. Therefore it's a discount in the form of a loan rebate over 12 months.

$1,200 - $333 = $867
$867 x 12 = $10,404 equivalent discount over the list price of the car

The thing is, PML doesn't usually give discount upfront (according to my SE), therefore it will be in the form of a trade-in overtrade, or in the form of a loan rebate.

So is it 150hp one or the new 170hp ones?

10 year loans are crazy man....

Re: PML's promo

The $333 per month deal is simply a subsidized monthly installment for the first 6 months of your loan, then it goes back to the normal rate. So effectively its a fancy way of promoting a discount on the price in order to probably clear out some old stock. Caveat Emptor !

For the singapore market, the BMW 320iA is using the latest 156 bhp engine (last year's models were 150 bhp).

The 170 bhp engine you keep reading about on these threads is a limited edition 320si model (only avaliable in certain overseas markets, back in 2006), its a WTCC homologation special. Alot of people get confused and keep assuming this is a new model.

the 170hp version is actually shown on BMW's international site. BMW automobiles - website of the BMW AG

or rather here BMW 3 Series Sedan : Technical data

Not too sure if it will make its way to Singapore though
