993,996,997 not my cup of tea and also they do not come cheap, average price for 993,996 is around 120-150K, 997 is moon price, whereas a good 964, maybe it will cost me 60-80k. at least no need to pay instalment mah !!!, or else COE porsche interest rate is about 5% flat !!! Anyway, in order to clear cash, i have to let go either my 330ci or K1200S...Painful man

Re: Porsche 964,C2

The 993 is really one of the best iterations of the air cooled 911s. I have to admit though that I have not driven a 964 before but have done a 993 C2 in USA. It was in backroad Philadelphia (residential area which is heavily wooded with many twisties). It was my first experience with Porkers and I fell in love instantly. Give it a try if budget it ok.

Re: Porsche 964,C2

i think foxfrc or hackzi can help u out wif the porky

Re: Porsche 964,C2

993, 1993 onwards ppl calling for 110-130K. Oops..964 c2 or c4 is more affordable..(poor man porsche) hee..hee..hee..
If i will to buy the 993, i have to sell away more things lah..(330Ci,K1200S and 2 premium watches)..

Re: Porsche 964,C2

i like modern cars but for porkers, 993 has got to be the nicest classic IMO...

You called? ;)

No offence but IMHO the prices you have in mind are for cars that will need some work. Clean 3.2 Carreras and 964s will all cost well over S$80k now, and may need an additional S$10k to S$20k within the first 1 or 2 years.

993s -- there really aren't many clean cars out there...

IMHO if you want a clean, accident free, well maintained and worry-free car, you will need to pay S$100k for a 964 and S$200k for a 993. Seriously. Ask me how I know...

996s are good starter Porsches -- not that expensive and most have had the infamous rear main seal failures sorted by now. Worth considering if budget allows.

Suggest you speak with Ben or Jo at Autoincsports to see what is available. They do the bulk of aircooled trades these days.

Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

Re: Porsche 964,C2

Sorry for the late reply, Mock..... Agree with Foxfrc5 on the prices for good clean aircooleds. Sold my 964 C2 manual for my asking price of $95k within 2 days of advertisement....and was told that my sale set the benchmark which apparently brought about the many 993s into the market (and some at higher than previously advertised prices)! ;)

Re: Porsche 964,C2

I'm in the market looking for a 993 C2 for an upcoming restoration project. Does anyone know any C2 for sale? Of course the car must be in a relatively good condition (i.e. no rust).

Thanks.

Re: Porsche 964,C2

Porky 993 are built like tank and should not have rust problem unless accident...I saw the best specimen; a 993 C4 (6 spd manual) newer than new inside out ..and its owned by my wife's cousin....if you at the east you may spot it red in colour but sorry not for sale.

There are quite a few 993s for sale. Try Autoincsports.

As in the Autoinc beside liang court? They dodgy?

Re: Porsche 964,C2

Yup that one. I have not dealt with them so cannot comment on the dodgy part but seems they have been around for quite some time.
