Dropped by the padang yesterday evening straight after work since it wasn't too far away from the office and took some shots. didn't stay very long though. Photos taken with a Nokia N95 phone, so not that great

orginal 356 is a beauty, never knew one existed locally till i saw it with my very own eyes

Re: Porsche Pit-Stop@Padang

Is that Carrera GT an authentic road-registered car? Because it is LHD and not on diplomatic plates. If it can be registered I would like to find out how it was done.

Re: Porsche Pit-Stop@Padang

only the CGT is nice,
mock u got a shock when he revved the cup. sounds terrible at idle. i stay far away from them in sepang...can go deaf. the revs climb like no tomorrow.

That's what I thought too.

Still love the old 356.

I don't think it is registered. Cannot find its detail in Onemotoring.

Re: Porsche Pit-Stop@Padang

The silver 356 coupe is superb. Not many cars can still look captivating after their 50th birthday.

All that is missing from the line up is a 959. The fore-runner to the Carrera GT. Anybody know if there is one in Singapore?

to the best of my knowledge, no 959 on our island. but then if there's one here, i wouldn't be surprised if most of us never hear abt it because its definitely going to be a well kept secret (like the 3rd unit of mclaren f1)

the CGT is not road registered. special permission was given from LTA to run it on that day, and it was assigned a random number. valid only for the day itself.

Wow, that must be one very sort after drive.

Here's what I found

My Car is Left Hand Drive - is there anything additional I must do?
Yes - Contact the Singapore Traffic police (or use their website) for details. Basically you will be required to have two things;
i. A "Caution - Left Hand Drive" Label at the rear of the vehicle
ii. An nearside rear vision mirror
NB: officially Singapore is currently not permitting LHD cars from entering but this is not strictly true and many exceptions have been noticed - enquire early!

Always thought the 959 was forerunner to the Turbo.

It was never midship but rear engined like all the 911s

The GT3 race cars u hv seen in Sepang in last TD were the GT3 Cup
The one in Mock's video is the beasty GT3 Cup RSR, F430 ALMS's nemesis .

If my memory serve me rite, i thought i saw 3 Mclaren F1 in 1 particular showroom. However, none of them is registered.

Fore-runner in the sense that the 959 was Porsche's first 'supercar,' enjoying an elevated position on the Porsche pedastal in the 1980s much in the same way that the GT does today.

Agreed that technologies developed around the 959 later found their way into the first 911 turbo.

Re: Porsche Pit-Stop@Padang

The no plate is special just registered to allow them to drive on the road for that day only.
