Preferred Sway Bar

Hi guys

Saw the choices are quite varied for fitment of sway bars. Is there a favourite brand and model for this? Do people do front and rear or they only do one and not the other?

My ride is an LCI 525 stock. So, this is the first add-on mod truly.

Preference is still comfort drive but want to see if sway bars will make the car more stable. Notice sometimes car is floating at 90kmh when on uneven sections of the expressways. I assume this would help to correct that in some ways.

Lastly, need to use specialist workshops to install?

Thanks and cheers

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

You will still feel "floaty" even after installing the thickest ARB.
You need a better set of damper to quell the "floatiness" .

But too thick ARB will have its problem like ;
- if one wheel encounter a bump or pothole, it will feel it more obvious as if both .
- if you go over hump at carpark speed then the car may rock left and right cos the damper is not strong enuff to counter the springing effect

There is a set by Racing Dynamics which is 30mm dia and H&R have one which is 27mm dia.
Personally feels that the RD bar is too stiff, so stiff that one wheel always lose grip when on uneven surface like MSCP ramp.
Have heard quite positive feedbacks ant the H&R though never tried it.

For ws to install, i would recommend 2277, R2d and Cybercar.
Not to say that the others are no good, but its just that i have good experience with the 3 ws above.

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

So you reckon i should look at spring shock setup first?

Changed those not too long ago. So kinda waste if i were to change again.

or u think just shocks will do. It was changed to boge. Maybe bilstein us better?

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

looks like you need Coilover..............................more than swaybar....

cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

Hoping for a cheap solution. Guess now have to learn how to float with it.

thanks everyone

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

Boge is like stock, so you still float like stock.
Just shocks/damper will be fine.
For Bilstein use B6 if not lowered or B8 if your car is lowered.

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

Why not check with ES for ///M sports? Spring + Shocks + ARB.

If change shock, rem to also change top mounting & dust cover hor.

Re: Preferred Sway Bar

Since we're on this topic...anyone can recommend a good workshop to change the shock n spring?

Preferred Sway Bar

I am reading this thread with laughter ... Arb is always the last to do in the handling segment. Many do it the other way. Arb is the final touch to enhance the overall system n fine tune it.

A bigggg arb is useless ... A hollow one is useless ... Solid big ones then can your car take it?

Your problems is to get a coilover system.

Ts all the best.

Ya
Rear set to softest.
Front - tried using the furthest hole but cannot fit because the joint to touch my lower arm so end up using the inner one
