Re: Prefl 320i on 19 inch rims. Advice needed

coming from 19'' myself.. the car does indeed feel heavy. but it really looks sweet. i guess looks are always a plus point..

Re: Prefl 320i on 19 inch rims. Advice needed

Interesting, the standard wheels fitted on M3/M4 is 19" with 255/35 front and 275/30 rear.
But don't forget it has 424 hp stock.

Re: Prefl 320i on 19 inch rims. Advice needed

Yup. Yes bigger wheels look nice but of course have to compromise some other factors as well.

Hence my ride no point to make up like any altis or vios. But getting bigger rims is just to make it outstanding tts all

Re: Prefl 320i on 19 inch rims. Advice needed

I'm contemplating changing my stock wheels to either 19" 403M or 20" 405M. My ride is a 320i also... Seems like some slowness and bumpy ride is to be expected after the swap? Shall do some more research! Any bros made similar switch? Thanks in advance.

(Sorry about the semi hi-jack)

I wouldn't listen to that guy if i were u..

19" should be more than enough IMHO.

With lower profile tyres for 19" (or 20") sure compromise on the comfort, slightly stiffer than stock for sure, but u'll be smiling when taking corners.

Happy modding !!

Mine 19" because E series wheel well smaller.

F30 OEM wheels got 20" - wheel well bigger so fits nicely. Tyre aspect ratio different so trust that BMW knows what they doing for comfort for the F30.

But of course - if you can get light 20" rims and tyres can reduce the lag.

Please let me know how the drive feels. I'm thinking of changing my F30 to BMW OEM 20" 405M once I reach 30,000km.

Whenever my car does that, I go mod something eg. ///M exhaust or SW or intakes or scoops or headlights etc etc. Each time it makes my car go vrrroooooooommmm!!! again. And when the old feel comes back, keep modding...

Poison!!!! Lol

Dear bros,

Due to backside itchy, went to get a used 19inch Breyton rims. Front 8.5 J ET 30 and Rear 9.5 J ET 35

I am currently running on Front tyres 235/35/19 and rear tyres 265/30/19.

Brand of tyres unknown like cheapo kind. Nexen tyres or something.

Previously was on 18inch all rounded. However after trying these new setup, tend to find the car pick up weak and somehow will feel is like heavier even on high speed.

Understand tt Breyton rims are heavy itself.

Any bros out there can advice is it normal for this setup or is it the tyres giving this issue?

Was thinking either to change tyres or just move back to 18inch instead. But I just love the rims to be big!

Thank you!

Bro, i m on the same set up as urs but on Vertini Concave 19... dont like the lim at 1st.. share the same thoughts as u... after awhile start to love it when comes to corners... anyway, travelling in sgp dont nid much pick up cos so many traffic lite....
with this set up, taking corner is damn funz...

I'm still in my research phase. The hunt always the fun part right? ;)

But after my trip to AD and other after market shops, I know for sure I won't be going for the 405M. After seeing it in person, I feel the tyre profile is too low for me.

403M still on short list along with BBS CHR. Hope to finally upgrade in next 2 weeks. Will let you know my post mod experience for sure.

Just curious why are you using 30,000 km as benchmark to change?

Re: Prefl 320i on 19 inch rims. Advice needed

So far I've not known of a 320i installed with a 20". The closest I've seen was the Alpina with a 20" but its an Alpina! It will fly on any size. Visually it looks great!

Shoes can look worn out when it reaches 30,000km. Its a good time to change rims too.

Few but there are. Singaporeans are either conservative modders or kiasi, kia-kwee car owners.

If it is non-M non-tracking car going only for bling, I don't see why not.
