Question about 335i DCT

Hi guys,

I am interested in a 335i manufactured in 2008 and registered in 2009 January. The log card states SMT and I have no idea what kind of transmission that is. It goes up to 7 speed and from my knowledge that would be a DCT engine. But I have a few friends who beg to differ, how can I be sure of the engine? The usual DCT interior can be seen ie the gear knob and display but these can be installed. Please advice.

Yes but I’ve heard that this can be changed.

should be a DCT model as late 08 mostly are already DCT - only the early 08 and before are non-DCT
