Just to share, I also have a Rainbow Vac.

I personally think its overprice. (Why I pay for it then, CO wants it......)

Anyway, unless its used "regularly" just like my BMW I rather spend the $$$ on another mod that I can "see/use" everyday.

its true. sometimes too clean is not too good.

I also had a demonstration in my home for one of these systems, and while the price tag took me back a bit I have to say my HYLA is one of best things I own and way better I think than the rainbow.

The salesman salary is based on the sales of the vac.
Its a age old marketing strategy that they do not spend on advertisement or much marketing material or even display it at retail stores (retail shops take minimum 30% cut)

profit from sales will go to their pocket and maintenance of their service centre. I don't see them selling many units this way, but at least the marketing cost are low.

Personally, I find them too bulky
