RE: Throttle Body Device

Hi Folks...

Was at BVO the other day when Bernard stopped me and intro me to this "Throttle" device made in the land of our humble rides.

Apparently... it was a Plug and Play device which took him about 15mins to install. He cleaned up and asked me to take my ride for a spin...

Boy oh boy... went on the route around Sing Ming area and man... throttle response was immediate!!! I say again... immediate!... call it butt feel or whateer you like... if you are like me who've had experienced throttle lag whilst driving (Auto) now and then... I think this little device is the answer... The car felt so much livelier...

Anyone else who have tried this care to comment?

Re: Throttle Body Device

What exactly is that device and how does it improve performance? How much does that item cost?

Re: Throttle Body Device

I bet it is an eccentric throttle pulley that gives larger plate angle change for given pedal travel.

Re: Throttle Body Device

Anyone wanna strip that suspense factor and tell us what product are we looking at?

Re: Throttle Body Device

I think you can expect this suspense to continue until stock is available to satisfy mass demand, unless you belong to the select few who are considered privileged to know, which sadly it seems I'm not.
:(

Re: Throttle Body Device

Re: Throttle Body Device

First of all,
I think this works only if you hv the so called throttle-by-wire system as found in E46 for example.

Basically it's a simple device....a piece of wire with small gadget (which does the magic) installed in the e-throttle system of the car (which is just behind the throttle pedal)

Wot this device does is pretty much wot Shaun said above.
It sorts of accentuates the ease of pedal travel.
In layman terms, instead of your foot pressing 1cm to make the car moves, you probably need like half cm to do the same.

As for my car, it almost feels like the Sport Mode button being activated, giving the throttle input alot more sensitive and responsive.
It doesn't affect rpm at idling.

sounds interesting. can PM me more details on it.

thanks.

Re: Throttle Body Device

So given say instead of pressing 2cm on the pedal, u need to only press 1cm now, so what happens when u floor it or say will it like press halfway is = to flooring it, and anymore does not do anything since max already?

Re: Throttle Body Device

Dunno how to answer that coz I hvent tried it myself
In addition to that, I was told that it reduces throttle lag feel.

Re: Throttle Body Device

Looks like 55 pecah lobang ! so no more steam n suspense !!

Ok, im standing up now (now now not that one ya !) ...it's pretty good as i've said in the other thread.

I think what it does is that it amplifies the signal input when u throttle up. say instead of 10 pct when u just start to press, the signal is amplified to say 30pct something like that.

for sure U wont feel yr engine struggling during move off from traffic lights.

Book early to avoid disappointment ! :lol2:

Re: Throttle Body Device

So, assuming we take your buttfeel as good, what price are we looking at?

Re: Throttle Body Device

Have not pecha lobang yet. Most of the forum members here still do not know what the heck it is. Some say pulley also.... but Rasta gave some hints already. Anything electrically controlled dont expect it to cheap. Under $400 is a good start.
