Rear Parcel Shelf rattling

My rear parcel shelf is giving some 'nyak nyak' noise on my 1-mth old 323i already. SIGH! :screwedu:

Anybody got similiar encounter and has a solution for it?

(I think its the rear parcel shelf rattling, not too sure where the exact location is)

Re: Rear Parcel Shelf rattling

I have the same problem and will need to head down to PML to get it resolved. The last time I did, they replaced the rubber seal around the entire rear windscreen however, it didn't solve the problem.

Here's a thread in the US forum about similiar problems - one of the reasons is that the rear parcel is too tight and thus it rubs/creaks against the rear windscreen panel.

The problem with creaks is often that the solution is not difficult to implement (like loosening of the shelf), but the isolating of the problem is very difficult. :(

Let me know if the symptoms on mine match yours.

The creaks are more apparent when the car has rested for a long time (cooled).

1) When moving up/down slopes, there're audible creaks/clicks ocassionally.
2) When going over bumps/long sweeping bends the noise can be heard occassionally.
3) When the weather is hot, the noise appears more often (due to expansion).

If you are going to the meetup later (4-5pm, perhaps we can take a ride to listen for similiarities in the symptoms).
