AWD shines in track layouts that are "point and shoot". This mainly involves a lot of 2nd and 3rd gear corners.
Some of the tarmac rallys that I competed in sees that open wheelers are nowhere close to AWD laptimes. On such courses, AWD takes home 1st Outright wins with ease.
