Rear windscreen shredded with no reason

Hi, I am new in here, nice to meet you guys. I owned a F30 316i recently (this month), it is good enough for me with a small family. But I found that the fuel consumption is not as stated 7+l/100km, it is 11.5-12.5l/100km. Maybe this is cause by a low millage (300+km), hope it will improve after 2000km.

Ok. get back to the title. I found my rear windscreen cracked this morning as shown in the picture. I can't get any clues on what does really happen to my windscreen... Does this happen to any of you guys?View attachment 65877View attachment 65878View attachment 65879

Re: Rear windscreen shredded with no reason

Glass defect from factory? Looks like no visible damage from impact.

Re: Rear windscreen shredded with no reason

Definitely not normal ........ Takes quite a bit to have it shatter like that.

Was it held together by the window film (if any) ?

Re: Rear windscreen shredded with no reason

same issue happened to my friend F30 320i something ago as well.....................

Sounds more like insurance cover than product warranty.....

The sun film is a great safety feature actually ..... Holds the pieces together ....
