Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Is your car mileage very high? Many parts are due to life spend.

Reasonably Priced ?

He is asking if the price is reasonable, why you guys comment on bo hua or wu hua lol. Buy already don't repair how to drive?

Personally I think the prices with inbuilt labour is more or less there for SG WS so it's quite alright.

You could have saved quite a bit if you do all these repairs in JB WS though.

Repairs already done, $ spent, so enjoy your ride!

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Who care whether it is reasonable since work done?

Since your E90 already 9 yr old, i presumed mileage is 100k. It is not surprise with the list of repair.

It is true that JB ws would save on labour cost. But..................

Which WS you gonna go when fuel pump or alternator up lorry? Relationship with WS needs to be build

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Pricing of repairs seem reasonable to me. However it feels like you are doing a major overhaul as a sum of 4k is a huge amount. Unless your car genuinely has lots of issues, i think that it is unnecessary to perform such repairs. Btw im driving a 9yo car too and im quite sure that i didn't replace as many parts as you.

Anyway like canuck78 said, repairs are done so just enjoy your ride till its end of life!

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Reasonable for 9 years old car. Enjoy your ride for the next 12 months, im sure the drive is diff now

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Thanks bros for the replies.. To answer some of the reply why I do the repairs cos I m worried that one thing leads to another and I wanna have a free mind driving the car for the remainder of its life. I might consider renewing 5 years COE if premiums are favorable. My current mileage is 140k+

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Building on the question, will it make sense to renew for 10 years, by the end of which the car mileage should reach approx 400,000 km....it's an option I ponder about

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

I think 5 years would b a better option than 10 judging from the number of E90 320i we have in the market. My view is based on if you intend to use the car for another 5-10 years and not to sell at some stage of the renewal...

Renew for 5 years I read some other bro commented is the worse option. You lose the entire value of your parf eg 22k + 5 year COE (assume 40k /2) = 42k /5 = 8.04k depre

10year COE is 22k + 40= 62k /10 = 6.2k depre

Purely from financial point of view, deprec lower if you go for full 10 years.

One more thing to note if you do 5 year renewal, heresay you can't extend COE even if you want to.

Re: Reasonably Priced ?

Your repairs, though extensive, is not comprehensive. Meaning there are still many wear and tear parts that may require replacement in the next 1 year or so.

From LTA website:

COE renewal period

At the end of the 10-year COE period, vehicle owners may choose to deregister their vehicle or to revalidate their COEs for another 10-year period by paying the applicable PQP or for 5-year period by paying half the PQP (round up to the next dollar). For vehicles without statutory lifespan (such as motorcycles and cars), there is no limit to how many times you can renew the COE so long as the COE is renewed for 10 years.
For 5-Year COE Renewal

1) Category C vehicles with 5-year COE that had expired before 25 Feb 2013, and Categories A, B and D vehicles:

The 5-year COE is non-renewable. You must deregister the vehicle upon the expiry of the 5-year COE.

2) Category C vehicles with 5-year COE that is expiring on or after 25 Feb 2013:

A 5-year Category C COE that is expiring on or after 25 Feb 2013 is renewable. However, all renewals can only be for a 5-year period, subject to the vehicle's statutory lifespan.
