Illegal if your wheels sticks out further than your rear fender.

If you worry about FC, you shouldn't be driving a bimmer

The funny thing is the claim that 116 FC is at 17.2km/l
To me, bimmer if got 10km/l I happy le.. :lol2:

That should be considered as bonus.

Btw, I constantly get 11-12km/l in heavy traffic.

If long distance commute and drive 'normally', it's 16-17km/l.

Once on Eco-pro at 60kmh average, got 22km/l. However, it felt super

Depends on rim width you plan to set it with.
Also staggered or not?

Staggered setup. with 8" in front and 8.5" behind. offset of 34 in front and 37 at the back. possible?

Re: Recommendation for 18" tyres for 116i

just a check, anyone using 19" for 116i and having a 'rough' ride?
enuff 'cushion' from the tyres?

Cannot. Will stick out of fender.

With those width, you should be looking at offset 45 front n 50 rear.

Re: Recommendation for 18" tyres for 116i

The BMW M135i is enhanced to provide a dynamic, high-performance drive, with details unique to the M styling. The front apron is typical M styling with large air intake vents that are needed to meet the cooling demands of the hot hatch.

The racing inspired three-dimensional flaps on the outer air vents are separated by horizontal struts, another design detail common of M Performance vehicles. In addition to the ‘Ferric Grey’ exterior mirror caps, the specially contoured side skirts and double-spoke alloys intensifies the profile of the M135i. The dual exhausts are housed in the rear apron, finished in ‘Dark Shadow’ metallic.

The door features an iconic "M135i" inserts that matches an interior design. The interior details include an M leather multifunction steering wheel with a fabric hexagon and alcantara upholstery with blue accent stitching. The colour of the interior lighting is variable, while the key features blue detailing.

Power is provided by a 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder twinturbo charged engine which delivers 320bhp and 450Nm of torque. The powertrain sprints the M135i to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, (4.9 seconds for automatic) maxing out at an electronically limited 250km/h. The 18” M alloy wheels are fitted with 225/40 R18 tyres on the front axle and 245/35 R18 at the back.

Re: Recommendation for 18" tyres for 116i

Yup but 245/45r18 rare and more expensive than 255/35r18.
Also, the OD is smaller compared to stock. OD on 255/35r18 is closer to stock.

so if staggered would be 225/40 R18 front and 255/40 R18 rear?
alternatively just stick to front/back 225/40 R18 tyres?

Stagger or not... the lowest offset we can go is 42...

Re: Recommendation for 18" tyres for 116i

hi everyone, interesting discussion here! has anyone tried 225/40 R18 tyres in both the front and the rear?
