Dear Sifu
I am the 2nd owner bought it 2 years ago.
Coe is expiring in end Apr 2018.
Due to the drop in coe pqp I am extremely tempted to renew. My parf is 23.4k add pqp of 40.8 In total will be approx 64k for another 10 years.
However I have few problems with my ride.

1-worn out suspension or absorber.
Car was with a lower spring from previous owner. Of late lots of sounds and the stopper is completely spoilt.

2-need to top up engine oil approx every 3mths

3-coolant leak and top up every week.

4-aircond cold and hot. At times 1st 10mins no air completely. Sometimes started with veey cold and then halfway not cold.
Even my big screen have mist in the morning but inside the car is hot.

5-rpm keep jumping from 600-800 during idle. At times during stopping at traffic light my car sounds like a horse wroaaa wroaaa.
Even happen during reverse.

6-sluggish in the morning but drove fine in the afternoon.

7-a lot of oil leakage below the car.

And maybe a lot of other issues that i am not aware of..me being a noob.

Due to the high cost worry at times I am also tempted to buy another e60 with 2 years left as I really enjoy the ride. Looking at e60 525i or stick to another e60 520i. At times have a strong urge to buy a old f10 523i.

Maybe i can also source for parts from scrap yard to repair my car too.

Just love the beemer ride too much..

Any sifu can advise?
Sleepless nights..

Thank you.

One thing good about my car is it can go 680km to 700 with 63 plus litres of Esso 95.

Bro. seems to me that too much problem to handle liao why not straight to a F10 and enjoy new technology?

Any brothers know the cost of the above replacements?

Any good and reasonable workshop to recommend?

any of the Sponsor ws will advise you in greater details. Don't think that just because they are sponsors, they will be expensive. This is not true. The professional advice that they provide will certainly give you a peace of mind and a gauge of how much you will need to spend.

1-worn out suspension or absorber.
Car was with a lower spring from previous owner. Of late lots of sounds and the stopper is completely spoilt.
- Front shock absorber mounting + sponge + sensor S$144/set (parts only)

2-need to top up engine oil approx every 3mths
- Could be Valve gasket Seal, valve seals, or both. less than $60 each. Hopefully not worn/damaged pistons, then its overhaul

3-coolant leak and top up every week.
- most probably leaks in one or more of the rubber connectors somewhere along the line (about S$25 each connector)

4-aircond cold and hot. At times 1st 10mins no air completely. Sometimes started with veey cold and then halfway not cold.
Even my big screen have mist in the morning but inside the car is hot.
- go for Air con specialist for this. Compressor + labour is about S$1k I think.

5-rpm keep jumping from 600-800 during idle. At times during stopping at traffic light my car sounds like a horse wroaaa wroaaa.
Even happen during reverse.
-Something to do with timing I suppose. Go for specialist check

6-sluggish in the morning but drove fine in the afternoon.
- Morning everything is cold, fluids not expanded and warmed up. Could be mechatronics/solenoids starting to say good bye. (S$3200/S$1400)

7-a lot of oil leakage below the car.
- Different colour, different oil. Different spots, more than 1 leakage spots.
Parts are cheap, but labour intensive. Get Specialist advice. If you are doing it and involves hauling out the engine, then change both the engine and gearbox mounting at the same time.

With so many stuffs, it would be best to go to any of the Site sponsor to inspect and for advice whether is it worth repairing as there might be some underlying issues that you may not have observed.

Yes I enjoyed my E60 thoroughly but the repairs were burning through my pocket at that time and I wasnt sure whether the PQP were going up or down then. Good luck!!

Thanks Bro for your advice.
Greatly appreciated.

Btw do you have any workshop to recommend?

Hi , it seems like the car has a lot of work to be done . I suggest you to drop by for us to do a run through the car condition check at no cost . Thereafter then you have a better ideal to deregister the car or to pay COE .

Thanks Bro.

Visited one of the site sponsor and given a quotation.

Can i check with all the Sifu here would there be a huge difference using original parts and OEM?
Cost will be much cheaper but I planned to renew 10 years so must also think long run.

Been prioritising OEM for last 10+ years, from E46, E90, E92 and F10, unless OEM not available before I use original; always bought from Eng Soon.

No adverse finding to date.
