Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

Come down for your meet lah. BTW what software are you using for the kit?

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

not sure leh. the OEM ECU is still being used. the SC kits included a plu and play piggyback. i assume its there to alter the new air-fuel ration mixture.

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

danielO,

Are you going to tune that device?

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

I think you should install the piggyback either that or go the DMS route and reflash your ecu

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

1800rpm is too high. adjust the springs for the clutch for 1200rpm. otherwise your clutch will be working overtime = more wear & tear = earlier than 40000km worn out = lose boost.

i recommend oil temp, water temp, boost. afr, use with wideband sensor. stock sensor is narrow band, might as well not have it. boost gauge impt for future leaks.

pm me for 330i torque converter + gearbox. i have 1 unit for sale, in m'sia.

if ecu reflash provided by rennsport is installed, make sure u use back the stock injectors, uninstall sard, uninstall piggyback, install asatronic.

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

i can only fit 3 52mm autometer gauges with my gauge panel

so i have decided on air fuel ratio meter, water temp and oil temp.

hi,

how to 'adjust' the springs? do they need to be changed?

i gathered that EGT reflects AFR indirectly and in a wider range/period.. how true is this? mine hovers between 600-820C depending on ambient temp and driving style.. hehe..

also, can anyone please provide some data for the above parameters (oil temp, water temp, afr, egt) that u gather from various sites and/or personal experience.. i understand if u guys don want to discuss this openly and i truly appreciate if you guys could pm me instead..

thank you in advance.. happy wesak day people!

Swee!. Very swee!. Its a HUGE blower. The largest I have every seen!. Clutch engaged you said, Swee!. Oh, you might want to upgrade your front brakes to BIG Brakes to handle the stopping power.

Make sure to visually inspect the belt every month. Check for stress marks or cracks. Actually. press the belt in the middle to measure the tension when warm. Do this check to ensure that the tension is consistent. The moment belt becomes too lose, have it looked at.

Enjoy your ride. If you want to preserve your tranny, do not try crazy launch control sequences!.

Here are some pics comparing ASA FMIC & Technik's new FMIC, U'll need a M-areo2 bumper to fully utilised the bigger FMIC!!

My E46 step dun have launch control la....

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

as long as your water and oil temp dont go above 120C it's okay. it should hover at about 110-115 when pushed. if possible, wire up your torque converter. your atf fluid shoudnt go above 130C. it should hover at about 100-110. i have no experience for EGT. AFR should start at about 14 at low rpm to about 12 at redline.

oil cooler, atf cooler, big brakes, suspension are purely OPTIONAL. install them if you must, for added performance, but they are not compulsary. mod only those things you need to save money.

enjoy.

and sorry, i have no idea how to adjust the clutch engaged rpm. it's purely mechanical. so one can try to open up the blower to take a look at how the springs can be adjusted.

Re: Review: ASA SK1 with FMIC

Finally!!!!

the running-in period of 500kms - DONE!

pedal to the metal.....

definately shitz over the standard car!, like i mentioned before, the car feels about 300kg lighter. and now giving it the berries..... mmmmm nice, the higher you rev, the harder it pulls, the wave of torque just pushes you along. esp between 5-6k! (those of you that have the 325 will know). its like a different car, much more enjoyable to drive by filling up the power deficit of the standard motor.

without my SC, the 325 runs out of puff anything above 120km/h (sad i know, or maybe i am asking too much?) but now, past 140, and she is still pulling!! (can't go faster cause: 1) traffic! bloody rempits! 2) need fix up my warped brake rotors 1st!. i am sure its gonna pull till the redline!

now i find myself giving other E46ers shit......well only the ones with 'attitude'. haaaaaaaa. even destroyed a FL 2.0 yesterday! saw me coming from behind, so he floored it, just stick to his rear bumper like shitz to sheets!

yet to have a go with a 325/328.
