1) First of all, PCD of E90 is 5*120 just like the rest of BMW models.
Offsets of stock E90 rims are typically +35mm front on 8J and +37mm rear on 8.5J
So that's good start.

2) All forged rims are strong, the strongest one I think being the monoblock type. Prodrive rims are mostly if not all Monoblock type. They are rims that are competititvely used in racing, just like Volk Racing. So the strength n lightweight factors are assuring.

The lightest material is obviously magnesium type of rim but they are not suitable for street use, only racing such as those BBS rims used on E46 M3 GTR and extremely expensive.

Currently in prodrive rims offering for BMW, they are only for E39 and E46 so if u wish to get one set, u are goin to hv to be content with the E46 offsets which are bit off from the E90 but still ok.

Models like GCO7C 18in have +39mm all around on 8.5 and 9.5J if u go staggered while GCO10E has +38mm offset on 8.5J

So u go figure. I'd think u dont hv alot of choices but the nearest to your stock offset is +38mm on 8.5J all around.

Gd Luck

hello TripleM

Thanks. Didn't know that all BMWs are 5 x 120.
Checked and found that the offset for BMW rims on the E90 are:
- front +34 for 8 x18 &
- rear +37 for 8.5 x18

Now to weigh my options.......

cheers

Re: Rims for E90 (Prodrive, BBS, BMW)

Have u all wondered....

The E90 rims is having 34mm offset and a lot of E90 owners complains that the wheel sits too far in and put a spacer of 10-15mm, which means offset effectively becomes around 20-24mm..

The 5 and 7 rims are ET22mm..... Anyone tried getting 5/7er rims on 3er ??? :)

Re: Rims for E90 (Prodrive, BBS, BMW)

Thing is, the center bore diameter of the 3 series are different from 5/6/7 er so one will need to use wheel adapter for that matter.

Same story applies to 3 series rims if they are to be fitted onto 5er for instance.

As I hv mentioned before, the new aftr mkt rims currently still available in the mkt are mostly for E46 fitment and they are widely used in the E90s which aren't suitable. Hence 12-15mm spacers are needed most of the time.

Look fwd to seeing new rims design for E90s.
