Rub or no rub?

Saw on E90post.com some E92 fellas are using the following offsets, some said rub against fenders, some say no. I guess the ride height affects too.

lets say the car is on OEM sports suspension, will the following offsets rub using 19s?

8.5J front with et 32 (on 235/35/19 tyres)

10.0J rear with et 25 (think this one requires 275/30/19 tyres at the rear)

Re: Rub or no rub?

i thought 235 goes with 265
245 goes with 275?

and 235 should be 9J

No lah. The usual is 8.5J with 235, and 9.5J with 265 mah.

Re: Rub or no rub?

anyway

my 235/265 no rub.....in fact a lot of space left.

kenn's 245/275 rubbed. he did roll;ed his fenders

Re: Rub or no rub?

It depends on ur offset. I'm on 245/275s and its fine too.

I think u should not rub with that kinda offset, ABD.

Re: Rub or no rub?

Sam, what is the offset and width of your wheels for front and rear?

Re: Rub or no rub?

is there any other way? It never depend on rim size. Lotsa people use 10 inch for 265 for example, for more `stretched' effect more swee.

Re: Rub or no rub?

Jadis, Iforged didn't give me offset for my rims but I can estimate the front to be about +35 and rear to be + 22 or so.

Re: Rub or no rub?

I got the wrong info from this:

Wheel Offset Calculator

Now I know the reason why my rear wheel rub after car lowered. Based on the above, I got at least 8mm allowance. If based on your calculation, I have 0mm allowance, that's reason why got rubbing sometimes.

OK heng... this tire bible guy i gave him US$50 bucks because he is such a god. Your practical experience already verify his webbie's accuracy. Cool shit, Jadis.

Re: Rub or no rub?

I am running 8J 235 front and 10J 275 rear. Rubbing with depends on offset - mine rear wheel's +30 to 32 thereabout. Beng, +25 is quite aggro at the rear.......

FYI, for those Procede-ing, rear running 265 rear might not satisfy your grip needs.......

Ken, even 275 have difficulty in keepin the stock car on the road...
In sport mode, I think you can but you must throttle more progressively, then the rears will hook up. With DSC+T on it is not an issue of course. Increasing the rears to huge size does nothing to help the medium speed understeer issue.

Sam, front +35 is fine, I doubt rear is +22 without rubbing.
