Saw this comment posted on social media page, is the originator being Real or just as stated i.e. Sarcastic?


"Someone asked, latest BTO which one better value? Let me be more sarcastic or 'siao'! With S$280,000, u can buy a plot of land in JB at current rate which can build 4 units of Singapore standard terrace houses. OR u can buy a plot of agriculture land which u can covert to residential purpose to build 250 units of 4-room HDB with Punggol standard plot ratio. No offence intended."

a point to note though, many singaporean are not too aware of anthing beyond our shoreline. This could be a head up for them to dwell a bit more why our housing cost public housing that is, could be so drastically different just across the border.

the catch is : some houses in certain or many parts of JB / malaysia, the resale price
don't appreciate for 10 years or more
Plenty of land and houses to buy, therefore not many buyers

Just make sure don't buy a an ex-Pontianak plot of land ......

S$280,000 can buy how big land or bungalow in thailand and philippines?

what about the S$600,000 resale 4-room at sengkang and punggol (non mature estate)

Thailand, u can only buy land plots or property if there's Thai National as co-owner.
Philippines, dont bother IHMO. That place is so prone to real floods, mud slides and typhoons, even their own pple wants to get out of there if given a chance.

It's also quite real that most singaporeans are constantly looking for a better life elsewhere, lol.
