Seat belt on e90

Wonder is it normal or is it showing a sign of problem. As we all know the car will release an irritating warning tone if you are not properly belted. I have a habit of driving off first and then somewhere along the way buckle myself up, usually when the tone comes on. Lately, I ve been finding the belt more n more difficult to pull out from its position. Initially I thought it was the way I tried to pull the belt, maybe too hard and too quick, or the angle at which the belt is being pulled out is wrong. Now it has often been the case where I literally have to pull over to the road side, open/close the door a few times before the belt is pullable.

It does not always happen but it seems to be getting more frequent. The safety belt is important, anyone has this annoyance?

Yeap COMO thx will monitor it for a bit more

HEh PINGMAN :laughlik: time to send yours to PML also

Re: Seat belt on e90

I experienced this 2 or 3 times before but ever since PML changed the seat belt washers into the corrugated ones (3 on each side) (due to a faint "ting-ting" sound once in a while), I so far don't have this problem. Do monitor and if it is too frequent and frastrating, go PML.

Re: Seat belt on e90

My e90 has the same problem. Seat belt always gets locked up. My belt normally does not pull back to the original position. There is some slack due to the belt getting held back by the side of the seat. So what i do when it gets stuck is release the belt back to the no slack position before it can be released.

I did not encounter this problem so far. However, I am now on a loan 320 e90 and I have encountered it frequently in the loan car. I need to put the seat belt back to original position before I can extend it again. Can be annoying..

Yeah something like that lor. I suspect it has to do with the upper holder which sort of swivels. design issue?

I believed so. This design is different from the E46. Every new design needs to be perfected. But of course BMW or PML will not admit it. So if the problem persist or get too annoying, then tell PML about it. I believed after changing that to the corrugated washers, it should solve the problem, at least for my case. :)

Re: Seat belt on e90

Thanks Orh lulu bro.

I thought it will be nice to have warning sound about seat beats and car door not closed before moving off is nice feature, i wonder why BMW do that for E90 and no E65?
