This incident happen sometime in feb when i went to a site sponser (lets call it R&D) to replace my E90 steering wheel to Carbon Fiber. It was quite an impromptu decision to go down to the sponser place, the sales staff was very friendly to introduce the various type of steering wheel and finally i decide to go for it since it's going to be CNY soon.

Prior to the steering wheel replacement my car was in working condition meaning there isn't any error code/message on the display and the staff assign also did their own verification of the car condition before carrying out the work. The process took less than an hour and after checking the newly installed S.wheel i paid up and was about to go off when i notice a error message "Lighting System" appear on the dashboard i tried to off & on my car a few time to see if the error code will go away but it didn't and i highlighted to the staff but he just say that the error message should go off after a while, feeling something is not right i look for the PIC (let call him Tom) he carry out some check and is also unable to determine what exactly is the problem, after some time he ask me if i am ok to go to his regular WS (lets call it T93) to rectify the error code and he assure me that R&D will be responsible and everything will be ok, as i am also familiar with T93 workmanship and i told him i am ok to pop by.

I told Tom in fact i just did a major servicing and diagnostic the day before at T93 and everything was fine , thinking it should be a small issue where probably resetting the ECU should be able to resolve ended up eventually spending two days at T93 trying to identify what have gone wrong.

I will skip the tedious process where T93 went thru to identify the problems which lie with the faulty Lighting Module which they replaced and i left a happy man thinking that R&D will take it up with T93 on the cost issue.

Three months later i receive a call from T93 saying that R&D have refuse to bear the cost for the replacement of the lighting module as they claim that their S.wheel replacement work could not have cause the module to be faulty and now i am in a dilemma as T93 have indeed carry out their duties to replace the module and it will be unfair if they are unable to claim back the money. Even thou i understand that electronic eqpt do spoil over time however this really happen during the replacement of the S.wheel that this error occur n i am also frustrated that R&D just push away their responsibilities just like that.

Sorry for the lengthy writeup but i really appreciate if any bro can share your view on this

Each bear half if you think it is alright since you know wear & tear do happen especially older car. If not, tell T to claim fully from R.

I m open for discussion but wat i understand from T is that R doesn't want to bear anything
My dilemma now is that T is the innocent party shld R refuse to pay for anything

tats wat they claim also n i trust that there are other bros out there with similar exp with R&D. Sometime its not really about the money I just cant stand their unethical way of doing business

Then T and R should resolve it and not you. As long as you did not intentionally cheat any of them, you are not liable in my opinion.

think LL in this case, sum is small, dun think wanna claim in small claim court n go thru the hassle.
