Servicing mileage

For BMW, the onboard computer will prompt when servicing is due. In my case, it's only about 8500km between each servicing.

Would like to know how's it for you guys? For other brands, they go by 10,000 or 15,000km.

I feel that BMW's oil change interval is really a bit short.

I use 10,000km, especially so for Turbo car and I don't rely on the onboard computer which most of the time says 15,000. Call me a kiasu .. lol

Fully synthetic oil is good for 10,000kms before it starts to breakdown and lose its properties. 15000kms is not recommended as it promotes sludge buildup in the oil sump see any e46 era bmws that had 15000-20000 km interval oil changes.

as Scott kilmer says, Oil is cheap engines are expensive just change your oil regularly.

especially so if you push your car often or got do up, 6-8k is recommended...
keep your engine healthy, peace of mind for miles ahead...
