A SENIOR doctor from the Singapore General Hospital has been reported to the police for allegedly molesting a woman medical sales executive recently.
The hospital told The Straits Times yesterday that as the case was pending police investigation, it was unable to comment.
The spokesman said the hospital was not aware of the status of the police investigations.
The incident came to light yesterday through Facebook posts made by at least two individuals, one of whom said the alleged victim was his friend.
He claimed that the doctor had molested the woman.
Both posted links that revealed the doctor’s identity, complete with his picture, specialist medical qualifications and appointments.
The two men who made the Facebook posts claimed they wanted to alert others to what the doctor had allegedly done, and warn people to beware of him.
One said the doctor’s alleged actions were unacceptable, and added: “Hope he gets the right treatment by the authorities.”
The Straits Times understands that the woman in the police report has been seeing a psychiatrist and receiving counselling since the alleged incident.
Both Facebook posts were removed shortly after they first appeared. One of the two men told The Straits Times: “Initially, we had wanted to warn people about this doctor, but given how sensitive the victim is right now, and under the advice of her psychiatrist, we decided not to aggravate matters further.”
Neither the alleged victim nor doctor was available for comment.
Docs in BMWSG, pls take note... especially the one who walks Wobbily... No names mentioned...
