Should I renew my COE?

I thought the E90 325i and the E60 525i shared the same engine?

That's correct. The current engine in my E60 525 does seem to be in better shape than the one in my E90 325. No vibration or tapping sound and thankfully, no need for engine oil top ups yet in between the 10,000 km oil change intervals. My previous E90 325 required top ups at around 5,000 km.

E60 525 use a 3 litre engine as BMW cut cost when they simplify their line up. I had a E60 520 2.2 with a six cylinder 2.2 litre enginewhich they killed and replaced with 2 litre engine mid cycle of E60. Get the 525 with 3 litre engine, prepare to pay more road tax to our Garmen. But enjoy the ride.

Numbering of cars is now confusing like the Merc 250 with 1.8 litre engine etc. New BMW 730 now come fitted with 2 litre four port engine but it is surprising smooth (I felt it like a six porter), and 0-100 kph time of 6.2 sec! The 216 and 218 comes with 1.5 litre three port! Drive it and conclude the ride, forget the numbers.

Ya I know about the early 520 2.2. But the late 525 3.0 is cool, learnt something new today. Was it the one that was cleared at $170k?

I think those were cleared at lower price like $155+, really great deals then when COE is within reach. A friend of mine is still driving his, now 8 yo, and still great to drive! Opps, he just clarified that his car comes with 2.5 litre engine.... sorry.... wonder why my friend's 125i comes with 3 litre engine??? My apology to all my friends reading this thread.

My sincere apology to all reading this thread. A friend of mine bought a 125 around 2009 that came with a 3 litre engine, I checked with PML then and they confirmed that BMW was simplifying their production hence dropped 2.2 litre six port and 2.5 litre six port. Got confused and hope that I have not misled anyone in their buying decision. Thousand apology.
