What time did the Corolla R eventually clock?

some traffic ..... 4-split stitched time 34.2

You are so proud of your buddy that you resurrect yourself to tell the world :D I like that. It is what it is and it's a simple quantity.

To be fair and add to the list: Dinan Stage I suspension, and a 4 point harness :D They do help!

Had to go without it this time because it was surging badly on the NSH already. Probably Malaysian fuel. The new map takes only the best stuff. If not for the fuel and surging, Sepang would probably see a new all time lap record somewhere around 1:20 full circuit.

Were you at the trackday? Thought I saw a plumper version of you running around.

In terms of accel...
120 - 205 km/h window, back straight, hot weather:

M3 GTS - 9.6 sec (early in stint)
M3 GTS - 9.9 sec (late in stint)
M3 DCT w/ exh - 11.0 sec (early in stint)
M3 DCT w/ exh - 11.4 sec (late in stint)
M3 manual w/ exh - 11.7 (late in stint)

Corolla R - 5.1 sec (late in stint)

What a pity. It would have been good show if the Corolla R was there. Could it be the unseasonably hot weather yesterday? I think the humidity is messing with the sensors.

You must have saw a ghost. :yikess:

What's the significance of 120 to 205km/h window?

Re: SIGN UP >> Sepang Track Day 10 Dec Registration

it allows clean comparison of in-gear acceleration between different models, also shows degree to which cars are affected by heat - both physically or preemptively by the control units to prevent any real damage from taking place

Thanks for compiling Shaun, some additional datapoints to round out the M family ...

X6M for 120 to 195 kph -- 10.4 sec (late in stint -- sorry, couldn't get it past 202 kph ....)

M5 SMG (5 seat family sedan) - 10.1 sec (early in stint) -- Shaun being mechanically kind or plus 100 kg passenger ;)

M5 SMG (5 seat family sedan) - 9.6 sec (late in stint)

Now you just need to add Ryan's Z4M :)

The Z4M is about as fast in a straight line as the M3 manual. Need 1M data :)
