Seems like it was a murder case. Both father and son were attacked in the father's house and the murderer drove off in the son's car dragging his body along...

Police have located the silver Toyota Camry which was involved in the suspected double murder of a father and son. The car was found at Block 1084, Eunos Avenue 7, after a carpenter spotted it this morning (Jul 11).

The father was found dead inside a house in Hillside Drive, while his son was found dead 1km away outside Kovan MRT station along Upper Serangoon Road.

An eyewitness saw the latter being dragged by the Toyota Camry, which then fled. It had the same licence plate SGM 14J had the same number as the father's home address at 14J Hillside Drive.

Mr Francis Yeo, 47, saw the Toyota Camry at 8.50am this morning outside the shop he works at, and called the police, reports The Straits Times.

The identity of the driver has not been revealed by the police.

The father who was killed is Mr Tan Boon Sin, who owned a car business in Eunos Avenue 3.

An eyewitness living in Hillside Drive told The Straits Times this morning (Jul 11) that he had heard shouting and moans from the house on Wednesday.

When he checked, he saw the son staggering out and collapsing near the house gate. He was drenched in blood.

About three minutes later, he heard a car engine start.

"The car was parked head first in the house, then it reversed over the body. I was shocked, I came out to see but it just zoomed off," said the witness.

The witness ran after the car but couldn't catch up. He then called the police.

When the police arrived, they found the elder Mr Tan's body inside.

Family members were at the mortuary this morning morning and arrived back home at about 11am, accompanied by police officers.

in Yahoo News:

"Must be PRC again! PAP's FT policy..see lar!"

"Come 2016, we will show what is murder"

"Too much stress, boiling point for many people, life too difficult, people break down faster now. This is our pappies money face politics"

The best one I read was:

Re: silver Toyota Camry SGM14J

OK I shall be the first to blame govt.

Tough life for car salesmen these days. If COE hadn't skyrocketed and poor sales, car salesman may not be in debt. No debt means no debtors. No debtors means no hitman. Govt gives birth to COE. Govt's fault!

Suspect on the run for 47 hours

A "short, fat" man in his 50s could be the person police are looking for in connection with the Kovan double murder.

Chinese morning daily Lianhe Zaobao said on Friday that the suspect was a man in his 50s. Evening dailies Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News also said the suspect was in his 50s, and added that he was "short" and "fat".

He was said to be wearing an orange and white striped shirt and blueish grey jeans at the time of the killings.

A maid living in the Hillside Drive neighbourhood apparently saw the man fleeing from the scene in a car at about 3.45pm on Wednesday.

Mr Tan Boon Sin, 67, who owned a car workshop in Auto Bay @ Kaki Bukit, was killed in his home. His older son, Mr Tan Chee Heong, 42, was seen staggering out of the house before collapsing in a pool of blood.

Someone then drove the elder Mr Tan's Toyota Camry out of the house, in the process running over the younger Mr Tan and dragging the body more than 1km before it was dislodged outside Kovan MRT station.

The abandoned car was found on Thursday morning in a quiet part of Eunos industrial estate. It was barely 1km away from where the elder Mr Tan's workshop was formerly located, before he moved to Kaki Bukit a few years ago.

The elder Mr Tan was said to have two sons and a daughter.

Shin Min quoted the daughter as saying the family was in deep shock and mourning, and could not accept the tragedy.

A dispute, possibly over money matters, is believed to have led to the killings.

Reports noted that the doors to the Hillside Drive home had not been broken into, how the suspect seemed to know where the keys to the Camry were, and how he also knew to abandon the car in a quiet spot.

34 year old suspect caught

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on 12 July 2013 at about 11.30pm in connection with the double murders at Kovan on 10 July 2013. The arrest of the suspect was possible through the close collaboration between the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP). The SPF would like to thank the RMP for their unwavering support and assistance in this case.
