Seven luxury cars were found splashed with paint remover yesterday at a car workshop in the Redhill area, causing an estimated $80,000 in damage.

The cars - a Ferrari, a Volvo, two Audis and three Mercs - had been parked at Optima Werkz, a workshop in Kung Chong Road.

I hope none of the bros here were affected - and I hope whoever did this, no matter what they think the justification was, would be caught and dealt with swiftly. I'm a business owner as well, and this kind of intimidation tactics is utterly reprehensible and plain wrong.

What makes you think Admin lets any tom dick harry WS become a site sponsor, just because a few "bad" reviews shows up on Google search you think its fair to stereotype them as a sub-standard outfit?

If you dig deeper into the other motoring forums, you will realise more often than not those repeated "bad" reviews are from troll competitors like yourself trying to falsify an incident that never happened.

In fact, a very good advertisement.

+1.

The 29-year-old owner of one damaged vehicle said that more preventive measures would boost customers' confidence. The man, who declined to be named, has been using the workshop for two years, and has three other cars serviced there.

"Obviously, I'm not happy with what has happened but the workshop has been honest and the way they handled the situation was very professional," he said. "They are willing to take full responsibility. I believe they are doing what they can," he added.

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

Some of the forumers obviously have axes to grind against OW......

You have bad reviews on OW, hit them with your personal reviews. Don't cite hearsays.

You have issues with them being site sponsors, or doubts on their tom's harry dick status, share with admin your legit concerns.

Don't be an internet sniper and take potshots.

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

shit stirrer............

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

If OW is Thomas, then PML must be Richard and MA is Henry.

Just ban every company from sponsoring la, then admin can charge Playstation $100/month to use the forum.

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

Maybe business so good affected rival WS in the area.

Rival workshop try to scare off business by resorting to these kind of stupid tactics.....

Not in the same line but happened to us before, we opened a branch that was very successful, caused 2 rivals nearby to close shop. So they not happy, pelted our shop with rotten eggs. Complained to ministry about shoddy practises, so ministry launched plain clothes investigation against us. Luckily we were totally above board. Ministry after a full investigation cleared us and threw out all further complaints against us.

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

i did google for ps76..... boh review lay....
so gd or bad??
pls advice...

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

I went OW to buy small items (couple of light bulbs) before. The service staff quite polite, even when they are busy and my purchase was small. So if they can manage to entertain small orders with a smile, it speaks well of the place.

Re: Site sponsor in the news :(

My personal experience with Optima Werkz:

I had ordered a Remus exhaust for my Boxster through Optima Werkz. The pricing was attractive compared to other quotes I had received. I had to wait a few weeks for the exhaust to be shipped in, but this was informed to me right at the onset, and there was very good communication from the Optima Werkz salesperson throughout. When the exhaust arrived, I was sent a picture of it (yay!) and arranged for an appointment for the installation.

As so, as it turned out, my first visit to Optima Werkz was last Saturday morning... the same fateful morning as when the vandalism was discovered.

Despite the unfortunate incident in the background, the OW guys were highly professional, friendly and warm in attending to my installation. Service standards were excellent... there were 2 mechanics installing my exhaust. I am quite particular about the placement / symmetry of the exhausts and the mechanics adjusted everything until I was satisfied. They didn't mind that I was hovering behind them as they were working (I know some workshops don't really like hands-on customers). After the install, one mechanic carefully re-checked the bolts etc. and took me on a test drive to ensure everything was ok. They offered to wash my car, but I declined as I was in a hurry.

I'm very pleased with OW and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. They are a large workshop (many car lifts) that services everything from regular family cars to exotic machinery (saw a Murcielago SV there), with good + honest pricing (I'm the cost conscious, price-checking kind - normally the bane of workshops) and excellent service. No hardselling of other products or services whatsoever either.

I am just a consumer with no stake in OW by the way… just think it’s unfair for them to be attacked in this manner.
