Anyone got any comments on Thompson 3?

Sad to say, Thomson Three's unit layouts are equally bad, if not worse than Skyvue's. The rot in the private property market continues...

The private home market is in a state of regression. Bedrooms and kitchen are puny, no service yard, no bathtub, no rubbish hopper, lower ceiling, less car lots, sardine packed (high GPR), cheap floor finishes and some units will be affected by noise during prayer time from the loudspeakers nearby. Why would anyone want to buy based on location alone if the units are unliveable. The future developments adjacent to Sky Vue will have better potential if the developers stop treating buyers as fools and start offering good value and functional spaces.

It's unavoidable since land is scarce and the only way we are headed is towards a larger population. Basic economics, demand will grow and prices will only keep going up. Just look at the crazy land tender prices and you know how expensive it is getting. As developers, there is nothing much that they can do but make homes more 'efficient' (this may not mean 'liveable'). Alternative is to build homes the same design as in the past and we see $3-5mio 3-bedders in outer areas like Yishun. Then the public will cry that homes are unaffordable, not as if that's not happening already.

Saw this in another forum, ignore the political innuendos but maybe we should consider giant bungalows in Johore for the same price... Lol

Re: Sky Vue next to Bishan MRT

Sales for CapitaLand's Sky Vue condominium in Bishan got off to a rocking start with 410 of the 505 units released for sale on Saturday sold by 7pm.

Two-bedders, with an average price of $933,000 per unit, proved the most popular among buyers, said the property developer in a statement.

CapitaLand chief executive for residential properties, Mr Wong Heang Fine, said the firm was encouraged by the strong support from homebuyers and investors. "Most of our buyers are young couples who appreciate the well-articulated layouts and lifestyle amenities of Sky Vue and its proximity to the Bishan MRT station and Junction 8 shopping mall," he said.

The average price for all the units sold on Saturday was $1,500 psf. One-bedroom units and two-bedroom suites went for average prices of $750,000 and $1.15 million respectively, while the average price of a three-bedroom unit was $1.58 million.

Re: Sky Vue next to Bishan MRT

Congrats bro XXX for a good day at the cash till.

I just hope these buyers don't end up holding on to a property that is worth less than their mortgages, when crunch time comes calling.... 1500/sqft in the suburbs. Honestly, I never thought I'd live to see the day.

Sure true. How long can this thing last. Look at average income in SG and once interest rate goes up or market start flooding with more TOP units, prices will definitely fall. A lot of stupid people will be forced to hold on to their devalued properties.......

True. We will never know when or how much the correction will be. I personally thought 20% 2014 probable until the recent Fed announcement changed sentiments/delayed the inevitable. Nonetheless, we should never forget that there are a huge number of asset classes dependent on liquidity, not just resi. Caveat emptor.

The article quoted a Tricia Song. Talk cock sing Song. Gong LJ way until song song. Talk is cheap, these fcukers.

Many buyers/sellers believe such reports like machiam they hear from God.

I feel that sometimes buying a house especially a house for own stay especially if you have very specific criteria cannot wait for price to drop, when one that suits you appear, have to grab liao cos you wont know if you will ever find one again. The more time you waste the less time you get to enjoy it. Its just like last time when I was searching for a 6cyc Manual E36, I grabbed it immediately when it appeared on sgcarmart, enjoyed it for 2 years before another was on sale.

Buying for investment, buying high doesnt mean you make less money than if you buy it low.

Most important is buy what you can afford, dont become a slave.
