I am speaking from experience because my company had to sack one PRC production worker for constant MCs, AWOL and bad working attitude. What did she do?..

1. Instigate a general strike amongst the other workers in the name getting "better" pay for all "comrades and children of Mao"
2. Staged a sit-in at the reception with other disgruntled workers and refused to budge
3. Created a ruckus whenever some foreign guest/customer comes into the lobby reception area

Their mentality is "Make as much noise as possible cos who's the loudest wins". how do you beat that?

So for those who like to make comments machiam champion Human Rights activists and/or anti PAP/Government, be abit objective in your observations. Work with the PRCs and experience it for yourself...

so extreme! the most I get from my outspoken FTs is 'I have been working very hard, when is my promotion and pay raise?' Usually I respond by looking like wobbles's avatar

When bus drivers go on strike, take the train but make sure you alight at the right station.

Seriously.. for those who have never work with china workers , u will never know their pattern or even imagine
how ungrateful a human being can be at times (WL not included... actually they oso the same) . Their defence is that they
are brought up differently, they experience hardship that are unheard to us, their survival instince is more self centre than an animal.

PS : there are goods ones..of course when u consider there are 1,354,600,000 of them .

SLK works with Koreans, Thai and Chinese.. sometimes Taiwan too... he support the FT policy.

for your description, i don't think its just restricted to PRCs, there are many other nationality FT with the same mentality.
for the smrt case, i think slight greed got over their heads, especially with ppl fanning and instigating.
doing the same job, they probably earn abt 2k rmb if not lower back in china.
the drivers are actually much luckier compared to other PRC workers in SG who have to cough up their own housing and transportation cost at abt the same if not lower salary.
anyway, i still prefer to deal with the uncouth normal PRC worker as they are much more genuine than the highly educated bejing/tianjin types i dealt with in my earlier China co job, those are bloody hypocrites.

They will get better pay and better lodging. Which is fair.

But in the end, commuters will suffer because there will be fare increase across the board due to "increasing operational costs relating to the maintenance of SMRT bus fleet".
