Dear forumers, appreciate if you could enlighten me on some issues:

1) the headrest seems to be protruding fowards, even for front passenger. anyway to make it flush with the back seat? very irritating

2)i cant seem to get my ipod to work with the normal white colour ipod-supplied usb cable. when i select usb on the audio system it says "error"
is it not possible to use normal usb cable? any cheaper alternatives(besides aux-in) to the bmw y-cable?

3)when i set the headlights to auto, it will still turn on the main headlights even under the brightest afternoon sun.. is there smthing wrong wit e sensor
and how do i on drl? i already enable drl through the signal stalk menu

4)how to set the air-con to permanent recirculate? everytime is start the car have to manually press the button

Even when pushed all the way back the headrest would protrude forward slightly. cannot be help.

the sensors r quite sensitive. it will turn on in the day so long as it is slightly cloudy. but it shld not be on when in bright sinlight. u r suppose to set it to the dial with an "A" on it. if all else fails send it back to pml for them to check.

cant be help this one. have to press everytime.

hope this helps

Heya mate,

Regarding your 2) query, there ain't any other alternatives to the BMW Y-Cable if your wanna connect your Ipod to your audio system if you're considering to maximize the functions available on the car's audio unit.

Think it'll set you back about SGD$180 via PML. I got mine shipped in from the US @ SGD$140. Good thing about the Y-Cable is that you can control your Ipod from your steering and head unit, lots more convenient as compared to physically doing your song selection from the Ipod itself.

Moving on to 3), have you managed to get your Day Running Lights 'ON'? If not the function is accessible via the signal stalk.

Cheers!

Hi bro,
the other work around is to use a cable with regular phone jacks on both ends.
One goes into ur ipod the other into ur connector(inside the arm rest)
You can access ur ipod menu & controls. However it does not charge ur ipod.

cheers

FYI- i just picked up the ipod Y-cable from BMW, it costs USD67 w/o tax. at any bmw dealership in the US.
