Some Stupid Questions from WaWaWaWa

Got some stupid questions on upgrading cars performance.. or " BMW Performance" so to speak by PML...

I got the quotes from PML already.They told me all parts take one month to deliver upon confirmation, all are under warrantied by PML so no worries on their servicing.

Which one is worth getting from ?? ( putting costs aside, i need advice based on performance / warranty / servicing )

Brakes - PML or outside
Suspension - PML or outside
Intake - PML or Outside
Strut bar - PML or outside
Rims - PML or outside
Interior - ( steering / accessories ) PML or outside.

My car is still under warranty.
Type E92 325i coupe.

Suspension - KW/Bilstein - outside
Intake - BMW performance intake - outside
Strut bar - BMW performance - outside
Rims - OEM or JDM (volks/prodrive/advan) or BBS/DPE/HRE - outside
Interior - ///M parts and Robson CF - outside

get a price outside and pml price is from 1.5x to 2x

change sport rim also consider mod. so, are you going to change sport rim?

if $ is not an issue, do all your mods with pml ... problem solved !

That is what I tot too. If mod all by PML although cost more but warranty and servicing one stop by PML. Why not?
I have had bad experiences in getting parts outside and with all the trouble although cheaper on my previous cars.
It's just my curiousity of why most ppl dun do that since had spent so much on nice posh car.

I think this question is so recurring in nature admin should sticky this....

Profile yourself - if you fear backlash of voided warranty, keep car stock, or get everything from PML and make the SA signed it. Not everything from PML is from BMW, mind you. Example, AC Schnitzer wheels on my previous cabriolet, in the e46 days. PML will die die install with a 10mm spacers.... I am not sure how is that "safer" was that than a set of wheels with the correct offsets.

If you are more adventurous, break free from that fear.

You cannot thread on both sides.

I believe you can save as much as 30-40% if you get from outside with better selection of mod....

I will say, F that warranty mentality.

Example - if changing to Japanese forged wheels will cause structural issues hence voiding warranty, then it is not a BMW, cause even my Picanto Twin Turbo Black Edition has no issue with that.

It is a very simple thing. Think about it. Those things you changed will not be covered under warranty anymore since it is not stock items. The warranty covers stock items which you did not touch. Period.

So if you changed brakes, dun expect warranty to cover brake caliper issues, etc.

noted with thx guys on advice so far.

With my cuckoo knowledge on upgrades and mods, I guess I can only say is I will :-

either

Follow all the here says in the threads and blame myself if anything happens cos Its my decision to mod from there;

or

let PML do it for safety and security sake ( one stop blaming / party instead of many parties )

or

Dun mod, excuse my agony for all these hassle, and just watch other fancy mod cars while being contented with whatever I hv as stock for now.

PML will definitely charge you more and their service ain that great anyway..

i would suggest you mod outside and if PML really void your warranty so be it...u are probably gonna spend like 15k +- on mods? PML probably charge you 40-50% more? with the savings you probably can use it to buy a third party warranty?

sorry about being bias but i just hate pml service...so stupid that it takes one whole day for engine oil change even if you made an appointment wherelse i walk into any busy workshop in sin ming and the longest i waited is 4 hours....
