sometimes good..sometimes bad

Re: sometimes good..sometimes bad

the car electronics memorises the last 20 starts or so. try to be agreesive for more than 20 starts and see how it behave, do not lax, push it all the time. once you are not so heavy footed for a few times, the following couple of days will see the car tame down again.

this may be right. I do 80% city driving, 20% highway. On weekend, when I do highway driving, the car is quite response. during weekdays, the car behaves sluggist.

I also noticed that if you don't warm up the car in the morning, it would behave sluggist.

Re: sometimes good..sometimes bad

yup. i do feel it too. especially in a low powered car like the 118bhp 318i, where little differences can be hugely felt. if you warm up your car nicely in the morning's cold start, by not revving over 3500rpm until the temp needle goes to the centre position, then the rest of the day the car will perform better. my observations.

but there are also other days where the car will perform better or sluggish irrespective of your warm up procedure.
