Squeaking BRAKES!!

These squeaking noises started after my last service where PML got the brake pads changed. Did not have the time to bring back again to remedy until today. But now, they are telling me that the brakes disc need replacement and it will cost me another $900+.. However, that did say that its optional because the brakes are still working fine. So I am just thinking is there any other way where this squeky brake problems can be solved??

How old are ur disc rotors?

Also, you are in the period of breaking in your brake pads so u gotta ensure u do it properly. Brake squealing is not uncommon too if bedding-in procedure isnt followed in the right manner.

brake squealing happens most commonly if ur brake pads and rotors are of hard material. seeing that u must have got it from PML, i think the reason could be like what triplem said, improper bedding in procedure. u can get it checked at my garage where this guy specilises in brakes. i guarantee u he can settle ur problem. PM me if interested. P.S : i dont earn anything from this.

Even with proper bedding, brakes may still squeal, depending on the type of brake pads. I was very sure I bedded in my Ferodo Premiers properly but they still squealed like crazy. My wife said "wah lau, simei brake?" and I said "Performance brake pads are like dat one. Ai heong siew, ai chiap siew" hahahah.

I didn't install mine at PML... just changed my brake pads & disc.... experienced squeaking brakes as well... did my best to aviod hard brales to the first 500km after the change to run in them...but the noises were still there.

But funny thing that it has improved recently... only squeaks when during the first 20 mins of my dirve...once "warmed up" ... noises less oredi.

As a result, when i drove the car back to the workshop for them to check the squeaky brakes... but the time i reach... noises got liao... when the guy test drive... everything fine and dandy...sigh

Yeah different types of pads may contribute to noises too esp those of higher performance type one that is used for street driving.

So far I find Axxis Ultimate, being a high perf street pads, but incredibly quiet.

Ha, i don't track leh, so change BBK also no use. Somemore my rims only 16" can fit any BBK meh?

My disc rotors was never changed before, so its on for 1year 7months, car ran 65K.. Maybe i really didnt beak in my brakes properly? But the instruction to me was just to avoid hard braking during that period. So thats what i did.

The brakes pads not new anymore. They are changed about 6months ago, i was just bearing with the squeak all the while. So the problem could lie with the brake pads right?

First of all
Axxis Ultimate isnt a track pad.

I experienced alof of this noise with these pads after a track day (when I was still on M3 brakes) and the noise went away in 2-3 weeks. I mean, completely gone.

So look likes different people experienced diff things...
