I see our dear LHL everywhere in the top 10 list, 2 which are top 3. He is 4 times ahead of his next competitor. :wtf: Loot? Greed? Capitalism?

Personally this is my favourite line: "Of these countries, only three would not be considered "full democracies" by the "Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index:" Kenya, Hong Kong and SINGAPORE."

Kenya - I can understand why since it is part of a corruption-infested Africa continent. HK - is part of communist China anyway. Now Singapore on the non-democratic list is not new to us citizens. But our leaders still have the cheeks to champion 'democracy' in recent election, national slogans and pledge. We are deemed NOT democratic from outsiders! Wake up garment!

i think the link is a good one - objective at least.

our Government get paid for what they deserve and in my view, 2mil is not enough for what they are undertaking and running a country where there are many keyboard heroes.

for those who yearn complete Democracy - i don't think you can handle it.

In a country like USA where the number of keyboard heroes is more than the entire population of Spore, Obama got paid much less. Based on this inadequacy, should he just jump off the building as he paled in comparison to LHL?

The point here is that no level of salary is enough. Every PM or President will tell you that he or she is undepaid. In this case, LHL had set a world first. So naturally we are using his salary level as a benchmark.

Democracy is something which either you are or you are not. No point covering yourself in sheep's clothing coined democracy when you are obviously a wolf or a hybrid.

My views.

SPH cannot anyhow publish wor.... so most news are safe news.

Re: Statistics which you will never see on Straits Times

Can ask Obama be our PM instead ? That wil be the mother o all FT!

Re: Statistics which you will never see on Straits Times

Cannot leh. I think the current constitution said that all PMs or Presidents need to be born in Singapore. But with the lax and blurry constitution these days, who knows if this can be altered or tweaked. Anyway the constitution is passed by the cabinet and supreme court right? All ka-ki-lang, changing it is not impossible. So yeah, FT PM is possible in the future. We already have FT ministers in cabinet anyway.

Re: Statistics which you will never see on Straits Times

leaders like those in the US comes with lots of perks, their pay is just symbolic.

do a good read on how their systems work and would better understand.

pardon me, but in a forum where most prob own a BMW, i find it hard to reconcile the fact that we do not appreciate the state of affairs we have in this country.
