Technical Assistance Required Urgently!!

Dear all experts

I recently encountered this error message on my 2009 740Li.

"Drivetrain...continue journey at moderate speed. Full performance not available. Have the problem checked by service"

My mechanic checked and discovered its the turbo solenoid fault. Unfortunately, I was told by my mechanic they bought all the solenoid in the market and they are all faulty. Could be batch problem. They uncovered this either by installing the new ones for testing or using a hand-pumped device to test on the solenoid for pressure retention.

Can anyone help? I don't dare to drive the car in fear it could stress it further. But mechanic told me even BMW and PML does not have this part. And some other reputed parts distributor insist my mechanic must purchase the part with no refund even in event of fault. My mechanic can indent from BMW but will need 15 days and no guarantee it will be a working one.

At my wits end.

The boost solenoids are used to activate the wastegates. N54 engine work opposite from most other turbo engines - wastegates remains open until boost solenoids energize then it will create vacuum to close wastegates then boost will happen.

Like that just use hand pump how to create vacuum to activate actuators ......

PM me if you need more help ....

Your mechanic is CRAP !
BOUGHT ALL THE SOLENOID IN THE MKT AND THEY ARE ALL FAULTY ? All shops sells new parts which are faulty ?
And i trust you to believe your mechanic words.
From the words, its YOUR MECHANIC WHO IS NOT SURE WHERE IS THE FAULT !!!

Dear all experts

Thanks for your advice. Two things for further clarificartion:

1) Based on the error code, is it likely that its the boost solenoid?
2) Any recommended workshop I can work with? But I am claiming this on QBE Asia Care warranty.

Appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Samuel
